Middle-aged and becoming increasingly aware of her teenage son's independence, single mom Helen Longstreet schedules a week's stay-cation from her job as an RN at a local surgery center to relax and enjoy the simple uncomplicated life she has carefully constructed for herself and Dylan in seaside Cape May County, NJ. But fate has other plans. An unfortunate encounter with a seemingly harmless piece of paper plunges Helen into the investigation of a murder that happened ten years earlier. Following a twisted trail of clues, Helen takes a light-hearted look into the nooks and crevices of Cape May's historic Victorian homes. With a little help from a colorful cast of family and friends Helen is pushed far beyond the boundaries of her very narrow comfort zone. What she discovers threatens to bring her simple uncomplicated life to a tragically complicated end.

About the Author
Alison is a born story-teller with a vivid imagination and an unbridled compulsion to write it all down. When faced with two seemingly divergent career paths and against the advice of her freshman comp professor, Alison chose to earn a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College in 1995. More than twenty years of bedside nursing has given Alison rich life experience from which her characters and story lines benefit. She enjoys anything from the 1980's, long bike rides, cheap wine clean comedy. She writes books that she wants to read, where no children or animals are harmed. On a hot summer day she can be found on the beaches of Cape May County, NJ, where she lives with her husband and son.
