The pale stranger, Levi, finds himself in the Alleghenies at a house on the edge of a looming forest. Alone except for his mind-addled father, Matthew is plagued by an unnameable dread of the forest that fills his nights like a fog. Levi has been sent to help and together, they search for the root of the disturbance. But when they find their quarry, will they also find themselves overmatched?
