Bill Rapp began his professional life as an academic historian of modern Europe before embarking on a new career with the Central Intelligence Agency. During his thirty-five years there, Bill spent most of his time in the Washington, D.C. area, but he also spent over nine years overseas in assignments ranging from Berlin (during the fall of the Wall and the reunification of Germany) to Irag, where he served as the deputy chief of station for analysis. Among his other assignments Bill was the White House PDB briefer for National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice and her deputy Stephen Hadley. Bill retired in 2017 as a member of the Senior Intelligence Service, an Office Director, and senior executive at the Agency. He lives in Virginia with his wife, two daughters, and their miniature schnauzers. Bill is currently working on his Cold War Thriller series, which now has five books. He also has a three-book P.I. series set outside Chicago, where he grew up, and an independent thriller about the fall of the Berlin Wall.
