About the Author

Kasey S. Pipes is a biographer and historian. His first book, Ike’s Final Battle: The Road to Little Rock and the Challenge of Equality, was released in 2007 by World Ahead Publishing. Kasey’s political writings have appeared in Politico, Realclearpolitics.com, Townhall Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, World Magazine and Foxnews.com. He is now a special contributor to The Dallas Morning News where he regularly writes book reviews. And he also has appeared on C-SPAN, Bloomberg Television and Fox News. Previously, Kasey spent ten years in politics as a communications and policy advisor. In 2006, he served as chief campaign speechwriter to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Prior to that, he served President George W. Bush for five years. In 1999, he began writing speeches for the Bush for President Campaign. From 2001-03 he wrote speeches in the Bush White House. And in 2004, he was chief author of the National Republican Party Platform. Before joining President Bush’s staff, Kasey served as senior legislative assistant and director of communications for Congresswoman Kay Granger. He began his career as a college intern in the California office of former President Ronald Reagan. Kasey now serves as the Norris Senior Fellow at the Eisenhower Institute of Gettysburg College. He also serves on the AddRan College Board of Visitors at Texas Christian University, the USS Fort Worth Commissioning Steering Committee and the Armed Forces Bowl Committee. A native of Fort Worth, Kasey now lives in his hometown with his wife, Lacie, and their two sons, Lincoln and Crosby.
