Laura Trentham was born and raised in a small town in Northwest Tennessee. Although, she loved English and reading in high school, she majored in Chemical Engineering (in order to avoid becoming a starving artist!) and worked in a hard hat and steel toed boots for several years.

She is the author of sexy, small town contemporaries and smoking hot Regency historicals. The first two books of her Falcon Football series were named Top Picks by RT Book Reviews magazine. KISS ME THAT WAY, Cottonbloom Book 1, won the Stiletto Contest and finaled in the National Readers Choice Awards. THEN HE KISSED ME, Cottonbloom Book 2, was named a Best Romance of 2016 by Amazon and is a finalist for the National Excellence in Romance Fiction Award! TILL I KISSED YOU, Cottonbloom Book 3, finaled in the Maggie Contest. Both AN INDECENT INVITATION and A BRAZEN BARGAIN finaled in the prestigious Golden Heart Contest from Romance Writer's of America.

When not lost in a cozy Southern town or Regency England, she's shuttling her kids to soccer, helping with homework, and avoiding the Mt. Everest-sized pile of laundry in her room that is almost as large as the TBR pile of books on her nightstand.

Loved the book! Lady Lily is regretting her last words with her father right before he disappeared. Know months later she is having her first season. Gray who has known Lily since she was in short skirts lost the bet against her brother and is to watch her. When he gets to the ball he is not sure what Lily looks like since he hadn’t seen her in 8 years. When he spots a woman he wants to get to know better he stills her for a dance not realizing it is Lily. She is upset when he doesn’t know her. She wiggles her way into helping Gray find information on her father. There is heat and passion between the too. When Lily decides to escape to the country estate where her brother is, her carriage is attacked by 4 ruffians. They escape with the help of Lily and the 4 pistols that are kept in the carriage. When Gray gets to the estate after several days in France for a quick mission he didn’t know Lily was there. When he blurts to Rafe what transpired between he and Lily, Rafe hits him. When Gray says I love her, Rafe says why didn’t you start with that. As the two talk they realize that someone is trying to hurt Lily. They must find who wants to harm her and why! A wonderful read with a few twists.

This was a surprisingly spicy historical read! A sharply intelligent heroine, a detail oriented hero, and an abundance of sizzling sexual tension captured and held my attention from the start! Old secrets, a missing earl, unsavory villains, and suspicious incidents were just a bonus to an already entertaining tale.

This was my first book by Laura Trentham and I truly enjoyed reading this story! Gray, a spy for England and Lily, the daughter of an earl, set out in the hopes of finding the Earl after he's gone missing. Gray doesn't want Lily in the fray but she can't stay away. So rather than risk them not knowing what she is up to, he enlists her help. And falls in love with her along the way. Gray and Lily were a great pairing. The characters were well fleshed out and there was mystery and intrigue. I'm hoping to read Rafe's story next!

What's a little romance without some complications? Foreplay. At least in Gray and Lily's case. Ms. Trentham conjures up a tale of intrigue, danger and sensuality with An Indecent Invitation. She brings genuine emotion to a dance of mysterious love and unending twists to create an action packed bundle of redemption. He hides in the dark, afraid to step into the light. She exudes all the things he never knew he wanted and knows he can never be. When danger lands at her front door, he will risk it all to be the hero she deserves. Through the good, bad and heartbreaking, Ms. Trentham delivers a story that teeters on the edge of beautiful and disturbing to create a timeless story of ageless and courageous love.

Love a heroine who is not a ninny, strong and can think for herself. Only so many plots in this time frame, so you may think it sounds quit familiar.

An Indecent Invitation was my first book by Laura Trentham but won't be my last. Ms Trentham has delivered a well written book. Gray and Lily's story is peppered with awesome characters, suspense, action and sexy bits. I enjoyed An Indecent Invitation and look forward to my next read by Laura Trentham. An Indecent Invitation is book 1 of the Spies and Lovers Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

This is book 1 in the Spies and Lovers series. Gray Masterson has been asked by his best friend to watch over his little sister while she is in London. Not wanting to be a part of the social scene, he forces himself to go to a ball to check on Lady Lily Drummond. If she is anything like she was as a child, she could do something rash and ruin herself. It doesn't take long before Gray is distracted by a beautiful woman who won't tell him her name. Lily can't believe that Gray doesn't recognize her. Leading him on a merry chase, he soon figures out who she is. Determined to find information about her missing father, the Earl of Windor, Lily tells Gray that she will investigate on her own if he doesn't help her. Joining forces, Gray soon learns that Lily can hold her own against some of the best spies working for the crown. Can Lily and Gray work together to find the Earl and their own HEA? I LOVED this story!!! This is my first book by Trentham and it definitely won't be my last. I'm ready to read the next book in the series which features Lily's brother!! I love a good spy story and loved that Lily got in on the action too. Her father and brother were spies for the crown, so it is no leap to see her come into the family business. The chemistry between Lily and Gray was RED HOT!! I liked that Gray was not a part of the ton. Although they are seeing more of this type of story, it is hard to make it believable. Trentham did a wonderful job with this! I'm not certain when the next book is coming out, but I will be reading it!!! Thanks go out to Samhain Publishing via NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

4 - "The things I subject myself to for the good of England." Stars! I am not a huge reader of Historical Fiction usually, I think this mainly stems from the fact that I read a library full of Mills & Boon style historical romances in my younger years, and although the stories in that genre and style absolutely hold a fond place in my heart, I in general like my heroines with a little more ‘mettle’ to them nowadays. Laura Trentham gave me that in An Indecent Invitation, with fiery Lady Lily Drummond, but she also managed to add a little bit of mystery, plenty of laughs and some seriously sexy times between Lily and Gray Masterson, so for me it was a win in every sense of the word. ”I have my share of scars.” There is a lot going on in this book, what with the disappearance of Lily’s father, Gray’s investigation into that, the fact Lily is very much of interest to most of London’s eligible bachelors, and Grays’ jealousy over that, and how she manages to get herself into (and out of) numerous scrapes, with and without Gray’s assistance and over-protective back up, and I absolutely loved her, and the fact she dove into every fight whether it be verbal or physical with as much gusto as her male counterparts. ”She’s only a woman.” Gray was pretty easy to fall for as well though, after 8 years working for the Crown as a spy, he has seen his fair share of action, and is carrying his own set of demons because of it. The Lily he remembers from eight years previous, is nothing like the Lily he starts to fall in love with, and being his best friends little sister, a man who is a brother in all but blood, adds a little more complication to their coming together, especially when he doesn’t go the most respectable route in eventually making his intentions known, and in 1812, keeping it respectable is very much the expectation. ”You’ve been etched in my memory.” Highly entertaining, exciting, adventurous and easy to read, the first book in the Spies and Lovers series gives the reader plenty to think about, Lily’s brother Rafe poses quite a few questions, and I am hoping that the next book in the series A Brazen Bargain; due for release in January 2016 give us a few answers. ARC generously provided by the author, and it was a pleasure to provide the above honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Lady Lily grew up trying to get the attention of her brother’s best friend Gray. She was always bugging him and he found her annoying. Now eight years later after losing a bet to her brother Rafe he is to make sure she doesn’t get into trouble during her season in London. Gray is a spy for the crown; so is Rafe and Lady Lily’s father. Rafe and Lily’s father has gone missing no one has seen in almost a year. At first they thought he got called away for an assignment but after no one had heard anything from in some time they began to worry. Rafe and Gray are trying to keep Lily from starting her own search for her father. Lily is a spit fire, and not like most women of her time. She won’t be sheltered just because she is a woman; she can help just as much as Gray and Rafe. Gray doesn’t even recognize Lily at first. He dances with her and when he asks for her name at the end of the dance she tells him that if he wants another dance he will have to find out her name. Gray miffed when he learns the Lady he was thinking improper things about was indeed Lily. At first he is mad that she was the same tricky girl he knew from childhood. Then when she wouldn’t do what he wanted, which was to stay out of the investigation to find her father. Gray just wanted to keep her safe. She had managed to find her way under her skin without really trying; the thought of something happening to her left his chest hurting. Gray must find a way to find her father and keep Lily safe. Will he give into the feeling he has for her or try to keep his distance? Lily has her own ideas about what is going to happen. This story was fun to read. Lily is head strong and is willing to do what needs to be done. She is adventurous and feisty. Reading about how they unraveled the mystery as to who kidnapped her father was fun and interesting. You also get to find out the truth about Lily and Rafe’s mother. I loved all the characters in this book and would love to read more about them. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. This book was wonderfully written. I didn’t want to put it down but life kept forcing me too. I look forward to reading other books by Laura in the future. I was given this in return for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Lily is not your standard Miss, but one who is remarkably intelligent, determined, and curious about her world. Dare I say downright open-minded? But that is what I most enjoyed about her and Gray is her perfect match. The heat between these two is palpable from their first meeting and continues through an original and satisfying ending. Would highly recommend for historical romance readers who want something a little out of the ordinary!
