The memoirs of a Russian-American Jewish woman, Eva Meltz, who idealistically moved to Moscow in the early 1930s. She describes her experiences from her first move, through her disillusionment with the regime and her imprisonment in a Soviet work camp, to her eventual emigration to Israel in the late 1960s. The work has been coauthored with her childhood friend, Rae Osgood. Also included are letters from Meltz to Osgood from 1932 to 1968. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
