Antonina, or The Fall of Rome, published in 1850, is the first novel by Wilkie Collins, an English author better known for his later works such as The Woman in White and The Moonstone. Set in the fifth century AD, during the sack of Rome by the Goths under Alaric, the novel combines historical fiction with romance and adventure.
