Assuming Names: a con artist's masquerade by Tanya Thompson

When it was over, there were a lot of questions.

The detectives were embarrassed but they still wanted answered, "How did a 15-year-old runaway successfully pose as a world traveled countess?"

The newspapers turned it back on them, practically sneering, "How did she do it while under investigation by the FBI, DEA, and Interpol?"

The Mafia had been demanding the same thing for six months, "What is your real name?"

And the psychologists asked the question they always ask, "Why?"

It's the why of it that will keep a girl in trouble.

Assuming Names is the true story of a young con artist. It's the tale of a runaway that assumed the title of countess and then went on to fool the FBI, DEA, and Interpol-as well as a number of other celebrities and institutions-with an elaborate tale of world intrigue.

Assuming Names by Tanya Thompson is a on edge true story about a young con artist in her own world. I enjoyed the book and encourage others too as well because it inspires you to do whatever you want. In the novel, Tanya is captivated by money and collecting government identification such as a driver's license, birth certificates, and more. She is highly intelligent and can shockingly fool even the most brilliant people. It’s engulfing to read about her insane adventures in what is the real world. The way Tanya writes about what she says to police, government, or threatening men, straight up lying puts the reader on the edge of their seat, just waiting for the person she’s talking to to call her bluff. You can feel the intensity in her words daring them to so much as doubt her extravagant stories. My favorite quote in the book by Tanya is simply, “Turn the page. Let’s see what happens.”

Crime, Mystery and Intrigue all surround this astounding book that I simply could not put down for three nights on end. From start to finish you will be enthralled deep into the world of Author Tayna Thompson and her Book “Assuming Names: a con artist’s masquerade.” The crazy thing, this is based on a true story. I could not believe half of what I was reading. I mean a 15-year-old girl outsmarted everyone from the Mob, to the FBI, DEA, and Interpol as she poses as a countess.  In short this young girl outwits, out smarts what seems like have the world as you read her rollercoaster story that is filled with suspense and twists that is definitely not for the faint of heart. Truly a remarkable book that I felt is well written and thought provoking on a whole other level. The end took my breath away and left me wanting more from Author Tayna Thompson.  Highly Recommended and 5 Stars!!!
