Overview

Astronomy: Out of this World! (Basher Science Series) by Simon Basher, Dan Green

Basher Science: Astronomy, Out of this World! created and illustrated by Simon Basher, Written by Dan Green:

Like a Facebook for the universe, Astronomy gives every important celestial body and concept its own page, where readers can learn its behaviors, likes, and dislikes up close and personal. From the flashy stars to the shadowy and strange objects that hang out like loners at the edges of the universe, no player goes unnoticed. Every profile has a hip anime-style portrait to round out the picture, but make no mistake: while the presentation is all style, the science is rock solid. The universe has never been so cool.

"Astronomy" is the fourth in a wonderful series of educational books that explore the components of the Period Table, Physics, and Biology with concise, clear and humorous explanations. Unique and beautifully stylized illustrations bring these elements and ideas to life by turning them into characters that embody their "personality." These books have enchanted my ten year old daughter who now wishes to become a scientist. We eagerly await the next book, "Rocks and Minerals."

Great learning/teaching tool. Most kids love cartoons ... this series is great because my kids love the illustrations, and love learning what the illustrations are about. Ultimately, this book serves two purposes beautifully, it entertains and instructs. One by one we are collecting the entire series.
