this is one of the most inspiring books i've ever read about any business.the founder of random house reminisces about founding random house and all the interesting people in books like ayn rand and others. cerf comes across warm and smart.his story about founding a book company at the outset of the great depression is very interesting.

A very urbane, smooth flowing reminiscence of Cerf's life and work, primarily building Random House. He certainly seemed to move with ease through life. It helps to be interested in publishing and the eccentricities of bygone writers, not quite my burning interest. Dated. One thing that annoys me about this ebook is, you can't see the dust jacket full size. It's there on the screen as an icon, but when you open the book the dust jacket enlarges and gives way to the page you're on. The jacket shows Cerf coming home from work. The "cover" referred to in the toc is the hard back cover, not the dust jacket and is almost nothing. Very annoying that you can't see it full size.
