The illustrations were done in a fun style, and the story was generally about Babe Ruth and the beginnings of baseball and how he saved the sport from diminishing due to fans disillusionment after finding some serious cheating done by a team. It was set during the depression and showed how Babe Ruth got the fans rallying again when he made a bet that he would get 50 homeruns in a year. It would be a great story for those kids who are big fans of sports and have a difficulty getting interested in reading (I have a nephew who fits this description¿.).
