The Barefoot Study Guide is a companion to Barefoot book (3rd book in the Sensible Shoes series). It is setup as a 12-week study guide that follows the character’s journey through difficult changes and struggles and how they become a community of suffering and support for each other. Forgiveness and dealing with the hurts from our past are major themes through the Barefoot book and this study guide. Each week is organized into six days of bible readings and reflection questions. Participants are encouraged to keep a journal as they work through the study guide. The sixth day is typically reserved as a review day. Each week includes group discussion questions where students are led through different spiritual disciplines such as lectio divina. At the end of each week, the spiritual disciplines covered are listed for review, which is one of the great features of this study guide. The reflection questions left me challenged to dig deeper into my faith and question who I am in Christ. I was able to come away from the study guide more grounded in my faith. I received a complimentary copy of this study guide from the publisher. My opinions are my own.
