About the Author

One of the country's top plein-air painters, Michael Chesley Johnson is a renowned landscape artist and regular contributor to Artists Network and Plein Air properties. Michael is also a member of PleinAir magazine's Plein Air Convention faculty. He is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, the Pastel Society of America, Pastel Artists Canada, and International Plein Air Painters. He specializes in teaching plein-air workshops in oil and pastel and has taught dozens of them throughout the U.S. and Canada.
