This book combines short stories about individual dogs with both biblical quotes and meaningful quotes from other sources that are related to some trait of the dog in the vignettes. I really wanted to love this book but found the format to be confusing because of the placement of the quotes and the author commentary. Would have preferred that the story about each dog not be interrupted by the quotes, etc. and that those be placed at the beginning or the end of each chapter.
