WOW! 16 projects in this book and they are all based on the elements around us.
The first thing you notice is that he loves color. None of the patterns us white or cream as their background color. While he does use tans, they are a rich deeper brown that a cream would be. This makes the patterns great for a beach home or your favorite guy. I’m not saying a gal wouldn’t like them but the first two things come to mind first.
Canyonlands quilt is mirror blocks and reminds me of birds flying. When I make a “stitch and flip” corner, I sew one more ¼” seam before I cut away the corner. Now I have a new block for another quilt and I don’t have to worry about bias. There are other quilts where you can do this “extra” block as well. It will be like making one quilts and getting another started in the process.
A couple of paragraphs about the quilt begin the written instructions. A material and cutting list follows. Block assembly is next with graphics to help you make sure you are sewing the patches together right. The quilting is left up to you.
There is a bio about the author that ends the book. If you are like the author and don’t want to always use white or cream as background, this book will point you in the right direction.
