About the Author

Gene Kim is a multiple award winning CTO, researcher and author. He was founder and CTO of Tripwire for 13 years and has worked with some of the top Internet companies on improving deployment flow and increasing the rigor around IT operational processes. In 2007, ComputerWorld added Gene to the "40 Innovative IT People Under The Age Of 40" list, and was given the Outstanding Alumnus Award by the Department of Computer Sciences at Purdue University.

John Willis has worked in the IT management industry for more than thirty years. He has authored six IBM Redbooks on enterprise systems management and was the founder and chief architect at Chain Bridge Systems. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Gene Kim has been studying high-performing technology organizations since 1999. He was the founder and CTO of Tripwire, Inc., an enterprise security software company, where he served for 13 years. He is a Wall Street Journal bestselling author whose books have sold over 1 million copies. His works include Wiring the Winning Organization, The Unicorn Project, The Phoenix Project, The DevOps Handbook, and the Shingo Publication Award-winning Accelerate, among others. Since 2014, he has been the organizer of the DevOps Enterprise Summit (now the Enterprise Technology Leadership Summit), studying the technology transformations of large, complex organizations.
John Willis is Senior Director of the Global Transformation Office at Red Hat. Prior to Red Hat, he was the Director of Ecosystem Development for Docker. John was one of the earliest cloud evangelists and is considered one of the founders of the DevOps movement. John is the author of 7 IBM Redbooks, as well as co-author of the The DevOps Handbook and Beyond the Phoenix Project.
