Birdie's life has gone to crap. Her dad's dead. Her brother's dead. And her friends have abandoned her, too. When her depressed mom finally drags herself out of bed, she tells Birdie she's selling their house in Pennsylvania and taking her on a summer trip to some fairy-tale-like town Birdie can't even pronounce.
