I’ve never read a book that had so many twists and turns. Romance, suspense, drama...I was disappointed when I finished it. I loved the characters. I can’t wait to read another book by this author!!

This book was excellent! It had engaging characters and tackled real issues in a way that had me turning the pages. I'd definitely recommend it.

This was a well-written book. Sophie is recently married, has been laid off from work and is shocked to find out she is pregnant. She is nervous to tell her husband, Terrence, afraid he might leave, like her father left her mother when she was young. She confides in her friend Tara, who is hiding secrets of her own. A handsome lawyer is pursuing her, and she is questioning her commitment to her husband of ten years, Josh, who has changed since experiencing a career-ending accident. Crises arise in the lives of both couples, and they struggle to find their way through it all. This was an entertaining book and I would read other books by this author.

This story pulled at my heart. It is about two couples and their struggles in life and love. I was compelled to read to see how it all turned out, although there was one point I almost gave up near the end. To my relief, that point turned into something better. There were tears, smiles, sighs, and breath holding throughout the story. I received a copy of this story through Candid Book Reviews, and this is my unsolicited review.

Alessandra Harris is a new author for me and while I like her writing style, Blaming the Wind just didn’t do it for me. I thought this book might resonate with me as my husband was a stay-at-home Dad and I was the Mom working outside the home. Raising kids with only one working parent is hard and inevitability someone feels like he or she is pulling more weight. I think the thing I disliked the most was the characters. They weren’t likable to me. Communication is the heart of any successful relationship and each of the characters failed at the small task. Terrance had too much of an ego, Sophia was too easily swayed, Tara was not a very nice human being (in my opinion), was too easily sucked in by another man, and seemed selfish and self-centered. Lastly….Josh…ugh. He seemed unwilling to look for work that wasn’t in the construction industry. He seemed perfectly content to gain weight and just exist. I think the story needed more depth – bottom line…this book just wasn’t for me.

This is a really well written story that will touch your heart. Alessandra Harris has woven a complex tale of friendship, family, betrayal and forgiveness. The characters are flawed in many ways, and although you may not relate specifically to their individual flaws, you will understand them as imperfect humans in an imperfect world. The author has also very sensitively incorporated mental illness, for which I applaud her. A fantastic book that I am pleased to have received as a gift and even more pleased to be able to review.

It is amazingly intense and the author prepares you for the journey for you to take alongside the characters really well. The characters and story development were perfectly done. This book was extremely well written and has fast become of my favourites of all time. This book was full of many twists and turns that will keep you guessing what is going to happen till the very end. I devoured it in one sitting. Incredible work!! I absolutely adored reading this book and will be one clicking the rest of this authors work.

I have to say it was the cover that initially attracted me to this book. A new author to me and this is her debut novel. If the standard of this one is anything to go by then she is set to become popular. A story based around the two couples who are friends, you could be forgiven for expecting a light airy, happy go-lucky fairy tale romance. This is far from that, it delves into the depths of human nature, pulls it apart and spits it out again. Several hard hitting subjects are included and this adds to the pace and drama of the book. It’s one of those where you drift between liking the characters, sometimes I almost liked Sophia and then she just as quickly annoyed me, Terrance never seemed to deal well with the situations. Tara and Josh similarly never quite seemed suited. Add in a love interest just to keep you on your toes. A testing time for both marriages. This moves along at a steady pace, well written and addictive reading! Many thanks to the author and Sage’s Blog Tours for the opportunity to read in exchange for my honest opinion.
