Overview

Every hero needs an origin story, and Louisiana State Police Inspector 'Cadillac' Holland's first case sets the tone for how his future investigations are likely to go. What starts as a simple manhunt for the suspect in a double homicide exposes a web of deceit and conspiracies that have very little to do with the quarry Detective Holland is supposed to be focused on finding. It also doesn't calm NOPD's Chief of Detectives to learn his rookie detective is more worried about what happens to the man he is supposed to be looking for than he is with finding him. Detective Holland eventually proves himself not just capable, but also able to root out serious crimes that NOPD's own detectives have overlooked.

H.Max Hiller’s relationship with New Orleans began with his job as a cook on Bourbon Street at the age of seventeen. His resume now includes many of New Orleans’ iconic music and dining destinations. A devoted reader of detective and crime novels, Max has worked as a chef on a boat traveling the inland waterways since Hurricane Katrina and began writing in his spare time.
