About the Author

Lindsay Teague Moreno is an author, podcaster, and business owner. In her perfect world Internet baby goat videos flow freely, mornings start at 10 a.m., and the word playdate is stricken from the English language.

In just two short years Lindsay built a seven-figure personal income, using only social media. She did this with three little girls at home and all the mom duties that come along with it. Raising businesses and babies at the same time is no easy feat, but anything is possible if you have enough dry shampoo and grit.

Having spent a considerable amount of time building multiple profitable businesses, Lindsay has gone through her share of ups and downs. With a passion for helping women find their voice and purpose, Lindsay wants to show women they can build their own version of the good life, no matter the circumstances.

While this book may not be perfect and there is much information in it that you can find elsewhere, it is presented in a fresh and entertaining fashion. The target audience may be moms who feel they want to do more with their lives or know they need to prepare for the day (it will come) when the kids no longer need 24/7 supervision or leave the home nest. This book also has value to the non-parental humans dreaming of starting a business or working online, including those who can still be considered a younger generation. The examples and references are current and authentic. Lindsay relates her own experiences and opinions without making this an About Me (or) Do It My Way memoir type instruction manual. She acknowledges that it takes dedication and WORK to achieve your dreams. Standing out from the crowd will never be easy. But it is doable. Mentors, even if you never meet them, are available and invaluable. She gives practical and achievable steps to moving forward and maintaining your motivation. You can feel her energy across the pages. I still struggle to find my own sweet spot, where my passions and interests and talent intersect, but she gives me hope that if I continue to dig, I will be prepared whenever I discover my niche.

This book really spoke to me. I don't mean flowery words I mean it was like a sucker punch in the chest, but I good one. I bought this book while at my companies convention and while my kids were being watched I took a moment to read a little. The tears started to flow. The author was speaking my mind and she got me. The words I didn't even have the courage to say flowed from her lips. I was sobbing in the hallway of the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City with about 40,000 people inside and I didn't care. My light switch had been turned on and I felt alive again. I began to think of the passionate girl I was before kids. My dreams and hopes started to shine through again and I knew it was time to make some life changes. I even made a Facebook post as my declaration of war against my negative self. You know that part that makes all the excuses on why you can't or know is not the right time. Now was actually late and I wasn't going to wait another minute. I wish I would have had this book at 18. It may have helped me from feeling bogged down by the life I had set up, but it is never too late to start altering your path. I love how this books breaks it down so it can be formed for any woman. It is all about taking a good look at who you are, what your good at, what you like, and how to make that work for you. I plan to give this out as graduation presents. Who needs a book about all the places they may go, when you can have one that guides you on where you would want to go? I will probably read this at least once a year to see how I grow and change as well. Oh and I bought the audio book as well, because sometimes you have to multi task as a mom!

If you are looking for a business book to help set up a new business or grown one you already have established, this book is for you. Boss up! is full of actual tasks and questions to ask yourself while working on your business. I love the pro tips part of the chapters. This is a definite must read and a great book to add to your collection of business books. This is my honest review after receiving a complementary copy from Thomas Nelson thru NetGalley.

I just want to say that I am not a business owner so I'm probably not the exact target audience for this book. I'm also not a mom and that's a lot of what she talks about in this book. Lindsay does have an easy, conversational style. I am enjoying her stories and her realness. As of yet, I haven't really found any solid takeaways that I can use in my current field. I can definitely see how this information could be useful to many small business owners. There are actionable steps and exercises to help target exactly where to go and how to get there as a business owner. *I received an ARC from the publisher but my opinions are in no way influenced by this.*

Lindsay Teague Moreno thank you thank you thank you for writing this book and sharing all of this amazingness with all the women business owners out there. I have taken my time to work through this book, do all the exercises in it and really process it. I will clearly need to read it a dozen more times in order to fully take it all in because there is just that much goodness in it. Every chapter you took us on a journey to discover a bigger part of ourselves as business owners. I feel clearer than ever where I am headed in business because of this book and absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to build a brand and a business of their own (even within a company and a team).

The amazing part of this book is not only does it give actionable advice but it also contains exercises to help you get started and get moving! One of the most difficult parts of reading a business book is then translating and implementing it into your business. You’re walked through this process, making the book that much more valuable

I have purchased multiple copies as gifts. I'm not a fan of the terms #momboss or #momtrepreneur because I believe we should not be judged by gender. I'm also enough of a realist to know, the world doesn't work that way. Now that my bias is on the table, I can feel comfortable reviewing the book. I have followed LTM for a few years, I read her earlier book, have heard her speak at a convention, and listened to her podcast. What you see is what you get. I find her sense of humor and no nonsense approach to business refreshing. As someone who has managed in the corporate world, participated in several direct sales businesses, and started my own company, I found something for everyone, and not just mom's. I most appreciated the questions and activities and wish I had thought about many of those things when I founded my company. I'm excited to go back and complete the work. Is this book perfect? No, but neither is life. If you can read the book and walk away with just three actionable items, I think you will feel it was worth the investment.

This is a very good book if you want to start your own business (even if you still have no idea what type of business yet) or if you already have your own business. It has business savvy, wisdom, wit and a whole lot of authenticity, all of which makes for an educational but entertaining book, never boring. It is not, however, without flaws. The introduction and the first chapter felt like a long introduction and I found myself wishing it would get to the point. But no worries; it gets good, really good, specific, immensely helpful and informative from then on. Also, I know many people loved the footnotes (there are funny, entertaining footnotes in practically every page), however, I found that they hurt the flow of the book. I would have preferred to have them included as part of the main text. This two minor details aside, I would recommend this book to every woman, especially moms, dreaming, hoping, planning, detailing or already working on their own. It will help you streamline your ideas, have a thought out plan, branding, target market and marketing ideas, among other equally important business foundations. Boss Up! is full of motivation and support, that many business books lack. I received an early copy of this book from the publisher, but this is my honest review.

Boss Up! Gives real, tangible advice to those that run a business, want to run a business or just have a tiny whisper telling them they're made for something more. Lindsay's gift for humor and hard truths pair perfectly with her insanely creative, knowledgeable business mind making every page not only engaging but extremely valuable. Lindsay gives you permission to be unapologetically you, in fact she demands that you discover your worth, find what makes you different and leverage that to find your tribe. It's smart. It's hilarious. It's heartfelt. It's full of content that works. I bought a copy off Amazon and then made a special trip to Barnes and Noble to get this exclusive B&N version because I did not want to miss a thing!!!

I started BossUp not really sure what to expect. I've heard Lindsey speak before and always thoroughly enjoyed it and felt like it was always worth my time I always gleaned tips and ideas for my own business. But many times hearing a person speak and then reading a book they wrote are two different things. And one is not like the other. But she changed that. This book is just like hearing your best friend give you ALL the advice you EVER needed to hear, with a step-by-step plan to help you be successful. Her book is a no-b.s.-smart book designed for and written for women who will settle for nothing less than going all the way to the top. Wanna shatter glass ceilings??? Lindsey T. Moreno tells you how.

I really enjoyed this book on business management from Lindsay Teague Moreno. I was not familiar with her businesses or other book, but I am glad I took a chance and read "Boss Up!" I work in the non profit sector and there was a lot of advice that I ended up highlighting for use in the way I handle projects, etc at work. I also found myself highlighting sections for my own personal use. Moreno has a friendly, honest and funny way of speaking to her audience. While I am not a "mompreneur " ( as Teague lovingly calls her tribe), I felt included and encouraged by the steps that were practical and useful, thanks to Teague's sharing her missteps and victories in the book. Each chapter brings the reader back around to the reason they began their work/business and then gives the how to continue growth and expansion. Teague is affable, vulnerable and at times, I found myself laughing out loud at her wit. She also is very much a truth teller, even when it hurts. There were hilarious stories of her parenting journey and how it applies to her business life, which I could relate to! There is a lot of sage business advice, amidst the laughter and the challenges of Lindsay's life, which means it can reach across age groups or stages of business growth. This book is helpful for women who straddle the line between business and home, attempting to balance it all. The truth is, we are all learning and trying the best we can to make our businesses successful, and that requires a will to learn, opportunities for growth, and encouragement to persevere. You will find that in "Boss Up!" This is a real world, honest gut punch to those who think running and maintaining a healthy business is easy--it requires a great deal of commitment and grit to see a return on your investment. While I wasn't specifically the target market for this book, I learned a lot and was excited to be a part of the launch team for this book, thanks to Thomas Nelson publishers. All opinions are my own and I chose to leave a review.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. We are still in the search of inspiring novels that have everyone grow more confidence and not be afraid to make some changes with their lives. Lindsey Teague Moreno does more than share inspirational stories from her life but gives the readers tools that will help them achieve their dream and grow more confidence in themselves. Even though this book is focused on the business aspect of change in becoming the boss, this book can also apply through daily life and in any situation where you need any tips and tricks for achieving your dream and living your best life. We will consider adding this title to our Non-Fiction collection in our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
