I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book is about Jenny, a smart-mouthed, no-nonsense girl who needs a job to help with a family issue. She's heading to an interview when she bumps into a rude stranger. Her day goes downhill from there. I liked Jenny's character for the most part. I did not like that she couldn't handle crisis well, but given the circumstances, I gave her a pass for MOST of her reactions. Though, there was one part that I thought she had crossed the line of reasonablity. I don't expect the characters of any book to be perfect (I prefer flaws, actually). I believe that there is a possibility that one could be so enamored by another, that they "reform" their idiotic ways. Like Ethan did. He did have lapses, but I chalked that up as concern and fear. There were times he did act like a spoiled kid throwing a tantrum, but if he was accustomed to getting his way and understood that he had no control over the situations that were presenting themselves, maybe, just maybe he would shut down (though he'd never let on that this was happening to the outside world). Now, given the setting of the story, I don't know if someone would truly act the way Jenny did in the workplace and have a pass. I'm not convinced of that part of the book, but it was entertaining, nevertheless. This was a quick read for me and I wanted to know how it ended. I liked the supporting characters and felt they added a little more to the story. There is adult language, that I could have done without and adult situations in interesting places. 3.5 stars

The two characters are too immature and annoying to get attached to. I’m pretty sure the author thought she was making Jenny funny and spunky, but she’s honestly just a whiny brat who has no concept of respect in the workplace. Don’t like your job or how your boss is treating employees? Just a tip, but maybe don’t cuss him out in front of the entire office, but try going to HR instead. I couldn’t stomach more than 50 pages before having to take a break. I’m currently at 110, and I am legitimately wondering if I should put it away for good (and I’m stubborn as hell when it comes to finishing books!) Long story short, don’t waste your money. There are much better billionaire romances out there with tolerable main characters.

Bossed by Sloane Howell was an entertaining and quick read. I enjoyed Jenny's character quite a bit. She's quick and witty. She loves her family. She's funny. She knows how to put Ethan in his place and isn't afraid to. I loved those parts. Ethan, on the other hand, had a personality that contradicted itself. He comes off all Alpha jerk. He yells at people. They fear him. His business is the most important thing in his life, yada yada yada. Yet he stays home and hides/pouts when Jenny's mad at him or hurts his feelings. What? That doesn't make sense. He was so worried about making the same mistakes as his father, but it seemed like we would easily allow those very same things to happen if Jenny was anything like his mother. So, his character disappointed me a little. With all that being said, the story was pretty good. I'm not a sports girl, but it even made baseball seem cute. I really liked Matt, and I hope he gets his own story.. maybe with Kelsey? That would be a fun story too. The ARC of Bossed by Sloane Howell was kindly provided to me by the publisher through NetGalley for review. The opinions are my own.

The main reason for my poor review is the heroine. She was full of contradictions and very childish. The story starts off with Jenny going in for an interview for a new job that she desperately needs, due to the mounting medical bills for her terminally ill father. She is very unprofessional......talks back....rolls her eye....etc. in would think she would swallow her pride for this job. Even when she gets the job......she asks for special concessions and talks back to her boss. This was so unrealistic. The H/h goes on one date and suddenly they are having sex everywhere.......there was no connection. Also I felt Ethan was a pushover for Jenny and she was constantly blaming him for everything(some his fault and some definitely not his fault). All in all, she was a very unlike le character. And there was really not a good connection with these two.

Awesome read! I have a favorite new author. This book has it all, love, steamy sex & baseball- a girl can't ask for more. Ethan & Jenny have instant chemistry & their desire leaps off the page. I stayed up way too late reading their story. I loved watching these two spare with each other & then fall in love. I can't wait to read the next book in the series! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

4.5 Stars This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last. This book had it all, laugh out loud moments, it was fun, hot and a little bit sad, I was hooked from the very first page. The characters have chemistry and are very loveable and once you mix in the humour with the hot scenes add in just the right amount of angst you have the perfect read. Sloane Howell knows just how to translate his witty humour and dirty mind onto paper and I'm certainly going to be checking out his other books. Great book and a must read I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book which was given to me through the publisher and NetGalley

I LOVE BASEBALL!!! Because of that, this read was even more endearing to my heart. Jenny knows way more about baseball than the average girl. She's good with numbers, doesn't back down easily and has a heart of gold. Ethan is a sports agent in need of a new accounting staff member. He's cocky and arrogant and feels like he rules the world in many ways. The day they meet is shocking for both of them with neither ever encountering a person like the other. This story tells the tale of Ethan getting knocked down a peg or two and getting back to the joy of living and true happiness. It also enlightens Jenny that happiness can be had while tackling the obstacles and burdens life eventually throws our way. This book made me smile. It made me laugh and my heart sing. It reminded me of days at the ballpark with my dad. It nearly made me cry - and that's saying something HUGE. You don't have to be a baseball fan to enjoy this read. There is actually very little of the game involved. But for me, the story read like a game. Each time Ethan came up to bat against Jenny you had to wonder if it would be a swing and a miss or if contact would be made. There are a LOT of errors committed during this game of theirs, several wild pitches, a fielders choice of banter, extra innings for Brian, a knuckleball that only proves that there are angels in the outfield, a double header for Ethan and Jenny all while leaving Matt and Kelsey in the on deck circle. The ending shows that the underdog can come out on top and that love is there even if we can't touch it. It was a fun and fast read for me. I recommend it and can't wait to read more from Sloane. I received an advanced reader copy of this book via NetGalley for a voluntary, completely honest review

A sexy office romance. A job at this sports agency isn’t just welcome with its fabulous pay, it’s something Jenny desperately needs to help pay her father’s accumulating medical bills. But when she realizes her boss would be an insufferable sexy jerk she can’t stand, will she walk away or will she stay and try to fight the undeniable attraction between them? He knew he shouldn’t have hired her. Ethan felt the instant pull towards her when they bumped into each other on the street. He felt it even more when her feisty personality was revealed during her interview. He understood that keeping a professional relationship between them would be next to impossible, but Ethan Mason is man that get who and what he wants and he wants her. This is my first book by Sloane Howell and I found it to be fun and sexy with a good pace and likeable characters including Ethan’s best friend Matt, who was a total sweetheart and Jenny’s best friend Kelsey, who stuck by her through thick and thin. Ethan is one of those heroes you love to hate because he hides his goodness hides behind defenses that make him barely tolerable, but a good man he I, he just needed the right woman to help get over his past pains. I really liked Jenny’s strength and feistiness, she had no problem putting the man in his place. Her backstory was similar to Ethan’s, I only wish that her reactions weren’t so visceral and over the top. Oh but there were other gut reactions that made my eReader heat up because Jenny and Ethan’s chemistry was sexy hot and their banter was amusing in its rivalry. Bossed is a standalone contemporary romance by Sloane Howell. It light and easy to read. Told from both points of view and has a happy ending.

3.5 Stars I enjoyed Jenny and Ethan banter to the point of I was wondering how they will one up each other next. Their initial mrrting had me laughing so hard because she gave it to him like no other. Something changed for me and I think it was Jenny in and out attitude. It was like she had trust issues that was never discussed in the book. Ethan, I understood his resistance but Jenny not so much. Don't get me wrong the book was still a good read but that part just had me baffled. I do look for more from this couple and their friends because I see promise there as well. Sexy, fun, and a little heart breaking but overall a nice solid storyline.

This book was an okay read. There were times I liked and disliked the main characters because of their actions. However, I did enjoy the banter between the characters but at the end I just felt as if something was missing.

Terrific book! Loved the interaction between Eathan and Jenny--fun, snarky, touching and at times hysterical! Also loved the supporting characters--- best friends, looking after, supporting and sometimes kicking a little butt. Would like to hear more about them too.

Bossed by Sloane Howell is one naughty of a boss-to-lovers contemporary romance. The chemistry between Ethan and Jenny was electric and I totally enjoyed the banter and interactions between the two. However, with that being said, these two characters just didn’t seem to stay consistent in their behaviors. Ethan, an alpha male, CEO of a major corporation who strikes the fear of all into everyone turns into a lil kitten in his actions towards Jenny shortly after meeting her while Jenny on the other hand, being desperate for her job with Ethan’s company, was so completely opposite in her actions and was all in his face, undermining of her employer, back talking etc. that were one really as desperate as she was, would never have acted on. Outside of that, the writing was really good and you did get some feels out of the story with Jenny’s dad’s illness and such. I liked the story as it was a nice escape from reality. Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

Jenny and Ethan have an interesting first meeting. Unbeknownst to either of them, they bump into each other and have a confrontation in front of a coffee vendor. Jenny then goes off to her interview and discovers, you guessed it, Ethan is her boss. Ethan at first wasn't going to hire her and then she changed his mind when she was able to get a batting statistic for a player correct. Jenny then accepts the job even though they were both rude because she needs to pay her father's medical bills. I had an issue with Jenny for most of this book. She was rude, whiny and downright bitchy at points. She claimed to want Ethan to act professional, etc. but then acted like a toddler. The whole foot tapping - just no. Ethan was a self-made businessman and was known for his no nonsense handling of his business fell pretty much apart after meeting Jenny. I was confused as to the amount of time Jenny actually worked because, for most of the book, she was able to take off of work. Her immaturity at points got on my last nerve especially when the unexpected happened and she took it out on Ethan. I would have kicked her to the curb many times. It had an interesting premise but the heroine and, at times, the hero had immaturity issues. I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

A first time read for me for Author Sloane Howell and Wow, I'm so very glad I took the chance. Bossed is a great sports romance. This book truly lured me in with each page that I turned and it certainly has it all; it's fun, has great humor, a steamy & sexy romance with some drama & angst as well, but it was the wit and sass that was spot on! I felt like I was right there with these characters feeling each and every emotion. Ethan and Jenny are a perfect match, loved them both! Hoping that there's a future story coming for their besties! Great job Author Sloane Howell you have definitely been added to my author to read list! ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. It took me a while to get to this book but I regret not getting to it sooner. Ethan is an alpha male that just doesn't want to open himself up. But when Jenny crosses his path in the park he doesn't know what to do with himself. And when she is interviewed for a position on his staff he fights to keep her off his staff because he knows that there is something there. His past didn't set the best example for relationships. But will he be able to keep his feeling, or whatever they are in check or will Jenny bust thru all of his walls and bring him great joy. Jenny needs this job to help pay for her father's medical bills. The only parent left in her life and their time together is limited. So getting this job is crucial to spending more time with him. It's the perfect fit, for them to talk about sports. But when she becomes flustered by the owner will she be able to focus on the job? Will she loose precious time? This story has angst, passion, remorse, sorrow, loss, and love. It's a beautiful journey to see Ethan come out of his shell and I love his best friend Matt. Jenny is so adorable but I feel like she is also hiding behind something. And there are times that you root for them and then want to slap their head together all in the same chapter. The tender moments that aren't about passion but about compassion are breathtaking. Well written.

This was a quirky, fun, fast read that involved employee/employer and lots of hot, HOT and dirty sexy times. There was a lot of snark and crazy angst to get through but what is left is worth it. Jenny and Ethan are definitely made for each other. The secondary characters are interesting and keep the story going. I recommend this one for a quick and fun read. **Received this ARC copy for review from the publisher via NetGalley**

I was blown away by this book! Jenny and Ethan have amazing chemistry. Ethan is the world's biggest jerk when he first bumps into Jenny. And she about walks away from the interview, but I think that's what catches Ethan's attention. There were times these two made me laugh, cry and sigh (some of the things Ethan does "just because"), but there were other times they frustrated me with their childish behavior. But really, who doesn't revert to childish behavior once in a while. I for one can't wait for Matt's book next!

This story brings it! Filled with saucy, smoldering banter, hilarious interactions, sizzling chemistry in a forbidden, but so tempting romance, as well as flawed individuals with heart. This hit all the feels for me, I laughed, I cried and I fell for both of these characters, flaws and all as well as their awkward struggles that they must overcome, to win in the game of love and life. Of course my favorite parts are the scorching chemistry between them and the smoldering banter when they hurl words back and forth at each other, turning them into a raging inferno of lust and desire as they rock one another’s worlds, and that was done superbly! This is the first story of Sloane Howell that I have read and Lordy, Lordy do I need to read a lot more! This kept me captivated and entertained from beginning to end. Loved it! Should you read this? You Betcha! Highly Recommended. I voluntarily requested a ARC through NetGalley and readily offered my honest review.

What a fun, sometimes emotional, and scorching hot read! Bossed, by new to me author Sloane Howell, is a fast-paced book, with two main characters that are instantly interesting, likable, and have a ton of off the charts chemistry. Bossed is the perfect balance of a well executed plot and sexy times. Accountant Jenny Jackson can't wait to start her new job making twice her previous salary. Her father's medical bills are pilling up, and this position will definitely make a dent in their debt. Jenny is a strong and beautiful woman that loves baseball. She can hold her own with the best of them, so working for billionaire Ethan Mason, an arrogant sports agent, challenges her in many ways. Ethan has worked very hard to earn his top agent status. He always gets what he wants and tends to forget about the social niceties that accompany employing people. His inability to trust others, factors into his business and personal life. He is very good looking and smart. Jenny changes his life forever with her spunkiness, ability to forgive, and her zest of all things baseball. I liked this book and the story-line is quite dynamic. I instantly bonded with Jenny and Ethan because they are extremely realistic and lively characters. Their sex scenes are full of desire and lust, due to Ms. Howell's seductive way with words. Ethan's dominance in the bedroom is beyond passionate. The secondary characters are engaging, and add a lot of interest to the story's happenings. In fact, I am hopeful that Jenny's best friend and Ethan's best friend get their own book. If you are looking for a sports-themed romance with a lot of heat, some baseball trivia and fun, then pick up a copy of this book. Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

Sometimes a person needs a good, suck-you-in romance with plenty of grins. Bossed filled that bill for me. It's well-written and often hilarious. Ethan is definitely an alpha male, but he meets his match in Jenny. I love that she had no problem putting him in his place, regardless of location or circumstance. Their witty banter kept me smiling throughout this tale. Howell's characters are so rich and just fun to read. There were some things about the story that were way over the top and both Ethan and Jenny's reactions at times were so childish at times that I wanted to shake them until their teeth rattled. But, I think that was the point and overall, it all worked together to make a fun read.

Overall, I thought this book was an ok read. I thought the story was well written and flowed nicely. Bossed is a quick read that can be finished in just a few short hours. In the beginning, I was really intrigued by Ethan and Jenny. I thought the two of them had really great chemistry and I loved the tension between the two of them. Their banter was very entertaining and I thought that they both gave as good as they got and I think it kept the story really interesting. However, I did have a few issues with the story. I felt like a lot of the drama in the story was unnecessary and at times, a little over the top. Anytime there was a misunderstanding, both characters would act without thinking and it annoyed me that Jenny never would listen to Ethan when he tired to explain himself. Once or twice, I understand. But, it was every single time. She only really listened to him when his friend Matt would intervene. I guess, I wanted to see more of the two of them working through their issues and hearing each other out without other people trying to save the day. Bossed is my first book by this author, and while I did have some issues with this story, I still found it to be an enjoyable read. For the most part, it was a steamy and fun read, it just had a little too much unnecessary drama for my tastes. I’m still glad that I took and a chance and checked this book out. I would still be open to reading more from this author in the future.

I have never read a book by this author and you can bet I will remedy that. This was an amazing read. Funny, sexy, great friendships, informative and so so sexy. I already have the second on in my wish list.
