Breaking Point by Allison Brennan

Bella Caruso survived a nightmare of abuse and betrayal. Today, she has dedicated her life to saving other young women from the hell that almost killed her—first as an officer of the law, then by stepping outside the law and into the darkness where true evil dwells. Now, it appears that the darkness has taken her once again.

JT Caruso often worries about his sister, given her line of work. This time, when he learns that Bella is working undercover to find a missing girl involved in a dangerous prostitution ring, JT asks FBI Special Agent Lucy Kincaid for help.

Even with Lucy’s extensive experience in running down human traffickers, finding Bella will not be easy. Not only because she is in too deep. But because Bella, who will not rest until she saves the girl, doesn’t want to be found…

Loved this book just as much as the others in the Lucy Kincaid series. It didnt quite have as much nail biting suspense as the previous ones did, but it was still fast paced with action. Love all the returning characters and the family members and their bonds. It is what makes this series one of best ones I read. My one complaint is that there wasnt an epilogue and we shouldve been given more info at the end. SPOILER- I specifically wanted to know how it turned out for Damien. I didnt want to be left wondering what happened to him..whether we are supposed to find out in a future book, or not at all, im annoyed by it. Oddly i found myself liking him and we deserved to know at least if he survived. Bella was a little hard to like and relate to, but i think its because she was a new character and most of her decisions put herself and others in danger. All over 1 girl? It was hard to believe and get on board with. Overall i did enjoy it and read it in less than a day. Give us something new in the book of this series. (Not always sex trafficked girls or boys.) Gets a little old. I definitely recommend this book! It could be a standalone but do yourself a favor and start with the 1st in the series. Or at least go a few back.

I really enjoyed this book. Although the book mentions things that happened in prior books Allison Brennan briefly describes what happened. This book can easily be read as a stand-alone. There’s a lot of action and suspense and plenty of mystery. I was up until 2 AM reading, I just couldn’t put the book down I can’t wait for the next Lucy Kincaid book. Received an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley.

Breaking Point is Allison Brennan’s latest Lucy Kincaid novel. While considered a Lucy book, it is as much about Bella Caruso as it is Lucy. The insight into the Caruso family makes the entire story much richer and more interesting. Lucy does struggle with some big issues in the novel, long-time readers will struggle along with her as she makes some tough decisions. As with previous Lucy books, the story takes many interesting twists and turns before it comes to an explosive conclusion. This series is an auto-buy for me and I don’t see that changing that any time soon.

I love the Lucy Kincaid series, and each new book seems to top the last one. The Kincaid, Caruso and Rogan families are filled with interesting characters that interact in interesting ways. Breaking Point featured a complex plot and was impossible to put down until I reached a most satisfying conclusion. It truly is a great addition to Lucy’s evolving story.

Once again Allison Brennan delivers a great story. While all her books are designed as stand alone reads, there are a lot of relationships, business partners, in laws, siblings that might be more difficult to follow if you aren't up on the series. Lucy is in hot water with her boss as a result of her actions in Shattered. We learn about JT Caruso's childhood and what motivated his sister Bella to go under cover in a sex trafficing ring. JT is sure Bella is in terrible danger. Bella has been under cover over a year and is starting to question her own judgement. As the feds start to close in on the bad guys the pressure is on to find Bella. If you are looking for a story with lots of suspense this book is for you. All in all another great addition to the Lucy Kincaid series.

The name of the author of this book, Breaking Point is Allison Brennan. This is a story in her Lucy Kincaid series. That's all I needed to see to know that by picking up this book I was about to have a very exciting, very suspenseful adventure. As expected this story has a very well-thought-out. well-developed plot with lots of surprises and suspense. As well as being a story about one of my favorite characters, Lucy Kincaid and the various other personalities that are usually featured in the Lucy Kincaid series this story also highlights Bella Caruso, sister to J.T. Caruso of RCK, Rogan-Caruso-Kincaid Protective Services. In this book Bella Caruso, pretending to be a doctor, is deep undercover with a prostitution/human trafficking ring. Bella is such a complex character yet Allison Brennan brings her to life in such a way that the reader can empathisize with her as well as stress with her about the part she plays in assisting such despicable characters. I found myself rooting loudly for Bella's cause and success. I'm sure readers will enjoy following Bella through her trials and successes in this story. A story about prostitution/human trafficking and all the ugliness that surrounds this is a hard story to write I'm sure. It's a hard story to read at times because the plight of these victims is heart-wrenching. Add in the fact that this story highlights the trafficking of young girls and that makes it even tougher to read or even think about. I appreciate though that this author has the courage to bring this major scar on the face of humanity into the light of day. Allison Brennan does an excellent job of bringing the poignancy and tragedy of this to the reader's attention. I commend her for how well she has researched this tragedy and her excellent skill in writing about this while telling such a suspenseful tale. This is a masterfully written suspense story and I highly recommend this book! I was given an ARC by the publisher for an honest review.
