While I have been knitting for a number of years now, I have never given much thought to the importance of different bind offs/cast ons. This book has changed that! It is an excellent resource for the beginning or advanced knitter (even if you don't realize it until after you read it!) It includes a cast on and bind off for every situation. Both the written directions and photos are clear, as well. A good investment, indeed!

This book is well-written with clear, step-by-step pictures to accompany easy-to-follow written instructions. The author, Leslie Ann Bestor, describes each method, giving examples of its use as well as special tips for "Getting It Right". This is a wonderful reference book for both beginning and advanced knitters.

This is a great book to have. I've heard of some of these, but was introduced to a lot of new ones. This book is especially helpful in giving the characterisics each caston/bindoff and giving examples of when to use them. Like cable cast on firm edge goo for one row button holes adding stitches at ends of rows.

Provides some options for making your project a little different and special by easily customizing the cast-on and/or cast-off. Some really nice finishes for those sometimes "dull" edges around the hem or neckline. None of the options are difficult, and the book is such a handy size for fitting in your project bag.

This little book has really helped me expand my knitting experience. I now know that there are many different ways to cast on and bind off. I enjoy the simpke instructions, the photos, and the tips on when to use the different techniques. I also like the size, a perfect fit for my knitting bag. I highly recommend this resource.

I just think this book is very helpful. I am considering myself as a beginner intermediate knitter and learning everyday something while knitting and fixing my mistakes...but this book brings more ways to start and end a knitting project (for the better). Have friends using this book as well. I am recommending this book to anyone interested in knitting (new or experienced) because it gives good tips and ways to vary your cast on and cast off on for specific projects.

I did find this book to be very helpful and it would be great whether you are a new knitter or an older knitter. This is a good guide book and in fact I learned a few things from this book. This is a book that you need for your shelf!

Absolutely wonderful resource. Very clearly written, and with good photos/renderings. Even the size of the book makes it handy and easy to fit into a project bag. I am so glad I purchased this invaluable tool.

While other books list more examples of cast on and bind off methods, I like the instructions in this volume and the explanations of when each should be used.

I already learned a new binding techniques! Seemed complicated but then turned out so easy and effective! Can't wait to try others.

This spiral-bound book has close-up photos and clear instructions for 33 cast ons and 21 bind offs. As a self-taught knitter of two years, I was looking for a stretchy bind off for the socks that I was knitting, and I found it in this compact book of 6 inches X 7 inches, which fits in my knitting bag. For a baby sweater that I'm knitting, I learned how to do a decorative picot bind off. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great book, some more clarity in the section headers would have been nice; I find myself struggling to remember if that cast on i was thinking of was in the Stretchy section, or the Basics section. May be just me.
