When a beautiful brunette driver meets Nashville Slammers catcher, Sawyer McBain, at the airport, he figures it's his lucky day. Sure, he's usually pretty guarded around people, especially after what happened with his ex, but he can definitely enjoy the car ride. Until she passes his apartment...and keeps driving. All of a sudden the woman seems a lot less like romance material and a lot more like a kidnapper. What gives?

Slammers executive Addison Carlisle needs one little favor. Sure, she may have kinda maybe kidnapped one of her professional baseball players, but it’s for a really good cause. She desperately needs someone high-profile to auction off that night for the multiple sclerosis society she’s chairing, but he insists he wants a favor in return.

Soon Addie and Sawyer are trading completely ridiculous I.O.U.s, like being his plus-one to his grandmother's poker game or keeping each other company at the driving range. But when their agreement goes from flirty to fiery, neither is ready to let their guard down for a shot at love.

5 Stars Review by Elizabeth Late Night Reviewer Up All Night with Books Blog Jody Holford caught my attention with just the first few lines of her blurb for her newest release, Catching her Heart. I have to say that there is nothing about this book that I did not like. Which is very usual, at least for me. When we first meet Addison and Sawyer, Addison is picking him up from the airport with the intent on kidnapping him. Why? For a charity auction, of course! Just by this one action, they are in for this epic romance neither of them are looking for. The chemistry between Addison and Sawyer is present straight from the start and does not let up throughout the book. With that being said, do not expect sexy scenes because you will not get them. Catching her Heart is all about romance and two people finding love when they are least expecting it. I LOVED that there was not any unnecessary drama between the characters, everything that is in this book is completely necessary. The secondary characters are amazing, except for his brother and mom. Overall, Catching her Heart was excellent! One click-worthy for sure.

This is Addison and Sawyer book, Sawyer is a MLB player for the Nashville slammers and Addison is an executive for the slammers organization. When Addison shows up at the airport to pick up Sawyer he thinks it’s a little strange but goes with her anyway! Everything seems fine until she passes his exit and apartment and keeps driving!! Maybe she’s a crazed fan?! Maybe she’s a kidnapper?! No Addison just needs a baseball player to be auctioned off at her charity’s function for MS ! But in return he wants some favors! Soon their trading some crazy IOUs and trying to keep the heat from burning them both! This book was an ok read it was well written and enjoyable although a little tame for my taste but worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

Addie desperately needs someone high profile to help her with the multiple sclerosis society she is presiding over and no one she knows is available so she decides to "kidnap" Nashville Slammers Sawyer McBain and after that happens she tells him that he can ask for a favor in return, he accepts and they are soon solving their problems together and starting to fall in love. This was the sweetest love story for me, the way their relationship developed was so cute, and the couple's relationship and dialogue with Sawyer's grandma was very sweet and tender. This is a great book series and I hope there are still a lot more love stories to come with the other guys!!

How I loved Addison throughout this whole book! She was so genuine, always wanting to help others, looking for the good in people, and trying to do a good job for the Slammers. She is honest to a fault and cannot handle thinking she may use someone for personal gain. Definitely someone you want to be friends with. Then there is Sawyer, so completely guarded and untrusting, wanting to play the game he has loved all his life. When you read how he is treated, you understand his walls. But I love how he learns Addison and her true nature, and allows her into his world. They were so cute together, with their flirting banter and the deals they made. I loved their ending and could want more of them in the future. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

Catching her Heart by Jody Holford a four-star read that will catch you. This is a for Love of the Game Romance but they can be read as stand-alone, in some places this deserves five-stars, but then it seemed to lack in a couple of others. Addison Carlisle is a whirlwind of a woman, she is so busy helping others, that she missed herself sometimes, but it’s what pushes her to be the woman anybody would be proud of. On the flip side Sawyer McBain is someone who hasn’t had anyone in his life for a long time who does things for other people, will Addie be the one who can show him that people really care and they will do things without wanting anything , or is the mistrust already too deep? When you throw in some amazing secondary characters you get a great story.

It's a sweet romantic story. I enjoyed reading it a lot. It started in a very intriguing way and ended beautifully. Addie is trying not to panic because this is her only way. So, she asks Sawyer for a favor and unexpectedly he agrees. But now she owes him too. They are both going to be working together so she hopes that it doesn't turn out to be a big problem. Sawyer couldn't believe this woman. She practically kidnapped him but oddly enough instead of getting angry or frustrated he actually wants to help her. There is something about her that he really likes. Perhaps it is the fact that she is the most genuine person he has met in a long time. Most people are nice to him only because they want something from him. Even his own family only contacts him when they want money. Addie is different and he likes that. Soon, he begins to be more than her friends. But is happily ever after really something he can have? I think that this story is very well-written. I enjoyed it and loved the characters. I'd definitely recommend it to contemporary romance fans.

Another FANtastic book!! I love these Nashville Slammers books - the characters are fun and realistic and the interactions between Sawyer (McBain) and the newest member of management, Addie Carlisle, are believable and HOT!!! I liked seeing McBain as he realized that some people are just nice to be around and how hard it was to realize that not everyone was around him. Addie had such a positive attitude and it came through loud and clear to me as a reader. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. It was every bit as good as Jody Holford's first book in the For Love of the Game Series, Covering All the Bases, and I can't wait to read more of her books.

You know a book that starts with a kidnapping and a date auction is going to be a wild ride!! I loved Addie in the first book in this series and was so excited to learn more about her. She's the absolute best part of this book. She's so driven and caring. She makes connections with everyone she meets and infuses her passion for helping people into every aspect of her life. Sawyer has been through it and over the course of this story, I thought that things would never turn around for him. These two are so perfect for each other. I loved the insane way their relationship started and how it grew. They can lean on each other and support each other when things don't go the way the should. I love all of these characters and have all my fingers crossed that the rest of the team gets their HEA!

This is the second in Holford’s series about baseball stars in the Nashville Slammers finding love. In this one, catcher Sawyer McBain is surprised to find himself attracted to Addy Carlisle. He’s so used to people, especially his awful mother and brother, wanting to use him for his money or celebrity that he almost can’t believe that one woman could be as straightforward as she seems. All she wants his help for her charity. She also wants to help him deal with the annoyances in his life. There were points when I thought the plot was going one way and then it didn’t. I appreciated not having the obvious plot turns. It was nice to have a story about good people finding each other. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Opposites Attract. Sawyer and Addie’s personalities couldn’t be more different but some how they complement each other and it was lovely to see the feelings between them grow and mature. Of course Sawyer has to go and mess up but he does eventually find a way to put things right. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Such a fun, sweet sports romance. Addie and Sawyer’s first meeting is epic. Addie has a true heart of gold and is always doing things for others. Her job to help the players and families for the Nashville Slammers is geared to giving them all-around wellness to make their lives easier off the field. But many players are resistant but she always perseveres. She is also very involved in charity work which is how she met Sawyer, the star catcher for the team. Of course, kidnapping him to be auctioned off for charity might not have been the best first meeting. Sawyer is surprised by Addie and her constant smile and optimism. He keeps looking for the angle, what’s in it for her, but can’t find the tarnish to her beliefs. He doesn’t want a relationship and finds himself facing an injury that has him uncertain about his baseball future. Of course, he can’t seem to stay away from Addie. I love how these two connect and trade favors. This becomes Rick’s game so he keeps seeing Addie. But can the jaded ball player really let all the light and joy Addie carries into his world? Or will he revert to type and push her away? It was a fabulous ride to find out! I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

3.5/5 stars This was the first book that I have read from this author and it was an ok read for me. This was a standalone in this series so you don’t need to read the others to know what is going on. Addison need a celebrity for a charity event that she is chairing and instead of asking Sawyer, she decides to kidnap him from the airport. This leads to them exchanging IOUs for various things. It was a sweet sports romance and if that is what you are looking for, then this is the book for you. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Slammers executive Addison Carlisle needs one little favor. Sure, she may have kinda maybe kidnapped one of her professional baseball players, but it’s for a really good cause. Now Sawyer insists he wants a favor in return. This is a delightful and at times humorous romance. Since I read the first book in the series and liked it in spite of it not being my usual read I wanted to read this one too. I was pleasantly surprised that this book may have even been better than the first one in this sports romance series, although I gave it a somewhat lower rating. I was just so blown over by the first book that it may have influenced my opinion at the time. The story has it's ups and downs with love, a bad family relationship, love found and love almost lost. I gave this book 4.45 of 5.0 stars for story line and characterization. There are sexy moments but no overt sexual content. I received a complimentary ARC of this book to read. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Loved this book!!! Sawyer is the catcher for a MLB team in Nashville and is a bit jaded on people after his parasitic family members have done their best to extract every dollar possible from him, treating him more like an ATM rather than a son or brother. Addie is a member of the staff for his team and is responsible for player wellness and special projects and has a perpetually sunny personality. Her family, while not perfect, is everything that Sawyer's is not. They first meet when Addie attempts to kidnap him to get his help with a special project near and dear to her heart. While a bit annoyed, he agrees to help, but tells her she'll owe him a favor. Thus begins their relationship and the trading of favors back and forth. I loved the way their relationship unfolded and the way they interacted together. The author made me feel like I was a part of their story and made me invested in their getting a HEA ending. While this is the first book I've read by this author, it won't be the last and I'm looking forward to reading more books by her.

A case of mistaken identify leads to an adventure of the heart. She knows his name. He hasn't got a clue. When a beautiful woman crosses paths with a celebrity there proves to be chaos ahead. Holford proves sweet can be a spicy treat. Catching Her Heart puts heart before hormones and delivers a laughfest. Addison and Sawyer are a reminder that even at the most inopportune times love manages to find a way.
