This Maine mystery tale, Child's Keeper, is the second book in the Charlie Henson Series.
Charlotte, aka Charlie, a retired paramedic, embroils herself in international intrigue when she attempts to help a friend. She discovers that Shirley, the great-granddaughter of her friend Susie, has gone missing, along with her two young daughters. She soon learns Shirley has fled to Canada and travels there to find out what is going on. The oldest daughter, Shawna, is soon in the hands of Canadian authorities, caught in a sinister plot to find Shirley. Charlie locates the daughter, steals a snowmobile, and crosses back into Maine.
The situation becomes very complicated when she herself is kidnapped by the very criminals interested in finding Shirley. When she finds herself back in Canada, on the snowmobile trail again, she is able to effect an escape for herself and Shawna. Will help arrive in time, or will the bad guys find her first?
In this journey, Charlie gets help from unexpected places and from old friend Ronny Curtis.

About the Author
I currently live in Farmington Maine, the site of some of this novel, and have lived here for almost forty years. I was brought up not far from here in Livermore Falls and have lived in this area most of my life. I have found great joy in the calming effects of the outdoors.
I’ve done many kinds of work, including office work, wool spinning, shoe shop piece work, and egg processing. I’ve worked in personal care, transportation and education. I’ve been writing throughout it all and find I enjoy mysteries, both the writing and the reading of them. My goal since my graduation, in my thirties, from the University of Maine-Farmington in Community Nutrition, has been to help people discover themselves and find ways to cope with problems and overcome roadblocks in order to better their lives. We are all connected in this vast hoi polloi and the better we understand ourselves, and each other, the easier life will flow for us. After a devastating car accident in 1992, I went back and acquired a BFA in Creative Writing from UMF, to help with my writing career.
