I’ve enjoyed other titles by this author and found the blurb for Christmas Lane really promising, so I dove right in. I loved the idea of the May-December romance and I always enjoy stories about quirky small towns, especially at Christmas time. While this certainly was an incredibly sweet holiday romance, Christmas Lane wasn’t quite what I hoped for when starting. From the first chapter, I thought the characters had loads of potential. Zach and Holland had well flushed out personalities and backstories and they complimented each other well. I liked the slow burn nature of their romance as well, with both men taking time to warm up to being in a relationship with one another. I also loved the plot surrounding their love story. The small town Christmas float and fair was just as adorable as one could imagine, and it was easy to picture the scenes playing out. Despite all it had going for it, Christmas Lane never really took off for me. The pacing was slow and I never truly felt invested in the story, so I found myself putting the book aside more often than not. And while I loved plenty of the plot points including Holland’s ex returning to town, some elements seemed more like manufactured conflict versus a natural development in the story- most notably Zach’s sister and that dreaded miscommunication that leads to a needless fight. Those little bobbles, particularly in an otherwise sugary sweet holiday romance, meant Christmas Lane never pulled me in further than that surface enjoyment. *Reviewed for Alpha Book Club*

A Sweet Christmas Story This year M/M romance readers have been blessed with an abundance of wonderful new Christmas stories to read (in addition to all of the wonderful ones previously available). Christmas Lane by Amy Aislin is a great addition to the group. All Zach wants is to be wanted by someone for himself and not to be used for just a one-night stand. Holland is very attracted to Zach but he's 15 years older and just doesn't see how a man so much younger could be interested in him. Christmas Lane is a great story with the very best of the Christmas spirit woven throughout it. Neighbors helping neighbors, a Christmas parade, a Christmas festival and two people falling in love. I loved both Zach and Holland. They each have insecurities that affect how they interact with each other and they must overcome them so they can have the relationship they both deserve. This story has a rich cast of secondary characters and I hope at least a few of them will get books of their own as the series continues. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***
