Overview

When William’s father kicks him out of his Kansas home, no one—including William—thinks he’ll amount to much. William suffers from an ailment that causes him to twitch uncontrollably. Of course, this is strange behavior to folks on the frontier.  Needless to say, it’s tough for William to make friends.

William’s strange tic insults an outlaw. Forced to defend himself, William discovers his condition gives him phenomenal speed and accuracy with a six-gun.

In Trinidad, Colorado, William struggles to keep out of the way of two railroad giants fighting to control the town. He wants to pick up and leave.  But he has a new friend and she needs his help.

William just wants to fit in somewhere. But people keep picking on him. People with guns.

About the Author

Robin Elno is a retired army colonel, semiretired psychiatrist, and full-time author. He lives in San Antonio, Texas, where he is an active member of the San Antonio Writers' Guild. Elno's Clown William series was inspired by the work of neurologist Oliver Sacks, who wrote about the unusual speed and accuracy often displayed by people with Tourette's syndrome. Intrigued by the idea that strengths can rise from differences, Elno created the unique and compelling character of William. Elno's novels are often set against true historical backdrops like the Wild West. Follow the author at amazon.com.

Clown William by Robin Elno is a unique story about Clown William who is a gunslinger with Tourette Syndrome, which causes tics (uncontrollable twitches), and a great ability with a gun which causes him many issues. It is set in Trinidad, Colorado. "This is the first book in a series in the adventures of Clown William". A quick read, packed full of action, challenges, twists and turns and surprises. Tge characters are well developed and engaging. Mr. Elno manages to present William as a strong man and his challenges in a realistic, sensitive way, his handicap does not hold him back. The reader will be drawn into this story and held in awe as you follow William's journey. An enjoyable and satisfying read. I look forward to reading more of Clown William's adventures. Well done! DO NIT let the title fool you into thinking this is a comical story, it is not. "I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however, these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review." Rating: 4 Heat rating: mild Reviewer: AprilR

I could see this Western as a TV series. William is a gunslinger with Tourette Syndrome (not known back in the day), but it gives him superior accuracy and skill with his gun; an unwanted but useful side effect as he makes his way through the story. The writing in this book is excellent and enjoyable. The author takes great care in representing William and his challenges in a realistic but sensitive way and after a while, I started just getting lost in William's thoughts. An unlikely hero, he just wanted peace, but fate had other plans. "There are some actions that change your life forever, steps from which you can never return. You’re a gunfighter now, like it or not." I myself am a Clown William fan now . . . like it or not. I will be on the lookout for the next installment in the series and hope I get dealt another ace.
