Collection of Thomas Jefferson's Letters (Illustrated)
Thomas Jefferson (1743-1825) was one of the most well-known Americans in history. As one of the prominent Founding Fathers, Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence and the Statute of Virginia for Religious Freedom, the first Secretary of State, the third President of the United States, and the founder of the University of Virginia. Jefferson served the young nation for over five decades of his life.

Given his gifted writing ability, it’s no surprise that Jefferson was a prodigious writer of letters. His turbulent friendship and correspondence with John Adams is well known, but he also wrote hundreds of letters to others during his life as well. Many of these letters were preserved and collected across the nation, including by the federal government, which reproduced this series of Jefferson’s letters.

This collection consists of over 100 of Jefferson’s letters spanning nearly his entire life, beginning with his first letters at the age of 16. Jefferson discusses science, philosophy, politics, and everything under the sun with famous Americans like George Washington, John Adams, and John Jay. This edition of Jefferson's Letters is specially formatted with a working Table of Contents linking to each individual letter and images of Jefferson, Monticello, Adams, George Washington, and more.
