This book was a slow start, but I did really like it! My heart kinda got hit with this writing though. I needed this book exactly when it came into my life! Suzanne has a way with words that’s just personal and non-judgemental, just a friend to friend conversation. One aspect of this that I really liked was that you followed the life of the 12 disciples, in a way I had never known them before. This book also made God seem so much more real to me, and it also gave me the intense desire to study Scripture and meditate/memorize more habitually. I loved the layout of her writing too. She would transition back and forth with her own stories and the Bible, not just one of the other. Honestly, while this book WAS really good, and made SUCH vaild points and I want tp apply these new principles to my life, I was just not drawn in AS QUICKLY as I thought I was going to. It was dragging, in my opinion, for the first few chapters or so. I particularly LOVED the last few chapters, and I guess you could say the book finished with a bang and left you with quite a bit to think and pray about. I will be reading Suzanne Eller’s other books in the future! ~Halee *I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Thank so much Bethany House!!!!

Beautifully written in plain spoken terms with a generous dollop of humor, this book will tease you out of your comfort zone and challenge and strengthen your faith…if you so choose. Some of the questions readers are required to answer will make you squirm. It’s okay; they are designed to do so. Topics that hit close to home, including hoarding possessions, are addressed in a way to demonstrate how they prevent us from getting closer to God and living fully in His plan for us. Do we consider how God feels in our relationship? We are usually busy asking for favors or giving Him advice, so do we think about what brings Him joy? Are we doing what pleases Him? What does He long to hear from us or see us do? Another topic that is especially timely is loving people who disagree with us, particularly those who do so in a disagreeable, annoying way. I say this is timely because considering the level of anger expressed by presidential candidates’ supporters, we may all be headed for Hell. Yes, it would be easier if the candidates were better qualified, honest, sincere people, but we do well to remember that God does not call the qualified; He qualifies those He calls, equipping them in unique and effective ways. We are all called to be disciples and this book will reach deeply into our hearts to show us many ways to respond, as long as our answer is yes. I was given a free copy of this book in return for an honest review. I strongly recommend it to everyone. Get a copy. Now.

Where you are going is not as important as who you go with. Imagine that Jesus walks up to you, right now, and asks you to follow him. He doesn't tell you where and he doesn't tell you what it will entail. He just asks you to come. Will you say yes? Bestselling author and Proverbs 31 speaker Suzanne Eller shows how, when you say yes, you take a step away from the uncertainty, the to-do list, the worries, and excuses. You take a step toward the One; who promises to delight and surprise, who will transform who you are, how you live, and how you impact the world. Eller creates a parallel between us and the 12 disciples whom Jesus chose to follow him thousands of years ago. We are reminded that they are real men, with real issues, real problems, who dropped everything they knew to follow Jesus. The disciples struggled with doubt, hesitation, questions, and wrong choices, much like we do today. Eller shows us why Jesus chose each of the disciples. Eller challenges and encourages the reader to see themselves at the 13th disciple and to move forward with clarity and courage. Can you hear Jesus say “Come with Me,” with fresh ears? A great summer study may be short but full of truth. I received a copy of the book from Bethany House Publisher for my review.

Come With Me: Discovering the Beauty of Following Where He Leads by Suzanne Eller is a look at the lives of Jesus’s disciples and how we can apply what they learned to our modern day problems. Suzanne asks us to take a journey back in time to when these men gave up everything to follow their Savior, and asks us whether or not we would do the same. I love this book, because it’s like the author is sitting next to you, sharing a cup of coffee and just talking with you. Her life stories are so well applied to each situation it’s more like a conversation than reading a traditional Bible Study- don’t get me wrong, I love every Bible Study, but this one was more like a chat with an old friend. Suzanne Eller touches on tough subjects, but does so with such grace and eloquence. One of her chapters, “Loving People You Don’t Want to Love,” completely wrecked my life. Especially in a world where so many people think that Christians dislike everyone that doesn’t share in their beliefs, it’s a reminder that Jesus called us to love: to love people who are difficult, people who are different from you, because people are watching our lives and asking if Jesus is worth following. She reminds us that loving others was what Jesus was all about, Another chapter that really spoke to me was, funnily enough, the chapter focusing on Judas Iscariot. We think of him as a bad guy, which he definitely ended up being, but he didn’t start out that way. He was one of the chosen few asked to follow and teach others about Jesus. He was loved by the other disciples, something just happened to him that caused him to do evil things. Suzanne points out how this can happen to any of us because of discontent. “Temptation begins in the small things and burrows in to create discontent.” Unhappiness causes small temptations to lead to bigger ones, and before you know it you’re over your head in the deep end. “Discontentment sneaks in, we hold it close and feed it, and it spreads like cancer.” But, Suzanne also gives us the tools to battle this discontent- by living a life of thank-you. “He [Satan] dares to stir up discontentment in our deepest relationships, and we find the good in the heart of that person. He tries to stir up discontentment in our ministry, and we find solutions for the problem instead. He tries to stir up discontentment in our faith, and we point to a bloodied cross and an open tomb.” I don’t want to give away too much of the book, because you need to grab a copy for yourself and dig in. It’s truly a book that has changed my life and some of my ways of thinking. I am thankful I had the chance to read it.

The book Come With Me by Suzanne Eller is summarized by the back of the book saying: "Where you are going is not as important as who you go with. Imagine that Jesus walks up to you, right now, and asks you to follow him. He doesn't tell you where, and he doesn't tell you what it will entail. He just asks you to come. Will you say yes?" I was looking forward to reading this book, but unfortunately I was left disappointed. I personally had issues with comments made in the introduction (one being Mrs. Eller personifying Peter as unreliable. If you actually read the gospels Peter is specifically mentioned almost 100% of the time as being right there with Jesus. That does not give me the impression of an unreliable person.) Overall I'd have to say the heart of what she is trying to say is good and I agree with it, but for me I had a very hard time getting through the whole thing. I guess I just couldn't connect with this style of writing and with some assumptions made as fact. I'd have to rate this one 3 stars but I personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. **This book was given to me for an honest review from Bethany House Publishers. All opinions are my own.**

I love the way the material was presented in Come with Me. Each chapter was displayed in sections that made the book relatable and easy to follow. Sometimes understanding how Bible stories apply to us personally can be difficult. From the very start, Suzie presented these stories in a way that I could apply to my own life. I enjoyed reading her trials, difficulties and triumphs. They gave me hope and peace in knowing that I am not alone in this walk. Suzie, along with tons of other people have the same struggles as I do. But not all hope is lost! This was a wonderful reminder about the importance of following Jesus. He will always guide and direct our paths. The chapters were all outlined as follows. Again, I loved this layout. It allowed time for thought, prayer, study and application. Main text - Suzie not only shared the Bible stories, but stories about herself and others that showed real life application. This was the meat of the chapters. Taking it Deeper - this section provided verses to study and thought provoking questions. I find its always good to rethink about what I've just read. Just another way to keep what I've learned inside. Scripture - an applicable Bible verse Prayer - Suzie offers advice in how we should pray about the topics presented Living As a Disciple - how we can apply this chapter to our daily lives I recommend this to anyone, whether you think you are following Christ, or you need help in that direction. We can all use growth in our Christian walk, and this is a wonderful tool to help us. If you are particular about your Bible version, I recommend having it on hand (I prefer KJV) so that you can compare the verses that are provided. Thank you Suzie for sharing your story! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House in exchange for an honest review which I have given.

In her book, Come With Me, Suzanne Eller encourages us to say “Yes” to the One who leads us to impact the world around us. As we follow Him, we may be led into hard places where our faith will be tested. But it in those very places, we will discover He is who He says He is and is worth following. The miracle was never about the fish. Pushing out deeper was never about the fish. That voice asking you to push out deeper? It’s not about the fish. Simon walked away from a heap of fish and Jesus became … Healer Savior Forgiver Provider Lord. (Suzanne Eller) It’s when Peter said, “But if you say so” that Jesus became everything to him. And the same will be true for us. Written in a conversational and engaging manner, I found this book to be thought provoking. At the end of each chapter, she has included a section by which the reader can “Take It Deeper”, memorize a Scripture, and a prayer. There are also practical suggestions for living as a disciple which will point each reader to a deeper walk. This is a wonderful resource for both personal reader or a group Bible Study. *** I received a copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest review. Suzanne Eller's book Come With Me is transformational! It speaks to places in your soul that cause you to want to chase after Jesus! The book is written in raw honesty, scripture, and authentic, faith filled words. The author takes you to the deep places in your soul, to reflect and take action in Jesus' Name. Some of my favorite quotes are; "Step into the harder places of faith, but not alone. Learn who you are, but more so who he is in you. " "We are invited to park our faith in the supernatural over the natural." "When I refuse to go deeper, my faith lingers in the shallows. " "I don't know when it happened, but prayer became methodical rather than personal. Today I felt you, Jesus. Your power. Your incredible powerful and sweet presence. Suzie." This book touched my soul. It is written in such an authentic, stripped down way that you can't help but want to take action and chase after Jesus. You'll love it!

I could not flip the pages fast enough and yet I wanted to slow down and savor the goodness and let these valuable words sink deep! Suzie takes 12 men that I already adore, that I am already familiar with, and shows me something new about each one. Her insights and stories challenge me to go after Jesus in ways I've never imagined or overlooked as important. Be prepared to laugh, cry and to change. Be prepared to say, "Yes, I will be the thirteenth disciple!"

Hang out with the disciples as you journey through Suzie’s life changing experience. I LOVE this book!! I am an avid reader so many books have impacted my life over the years but nothing compared to Suzanne Eller’s “Come With Me”. This book touched my soul deeply and has profoundly changed my life! Suzie shares her heart as she takes you along on her incredible journey with Jesus as the “13th disciple” that allows you to experience Jesus in a whole new way as she introduces you to each of the twelve disciples and tells heartfelt personal stories as she “sits” with each one. The perspective of walking through life as the 13th disciple encourages and inspires you to have a deeper relationship with Jesus. You will see “Jesus meets us right where we are with one plan in mind, to change us forever” and you realize “Where we go is not nearly as important as WHO we go with”. You will be inspired to go deeper in your faith as you draw closer to Jesus, and you realize part of the adventure of faith is to discover for ourselves why we believe. I promise this book will ignite your love for Him and you, too, will be saying YES to wherever He leads you. “Come With Me” is the invitation you’ve been waiting for.

"Whisper YES where NO wants to take root." When I heard Suzie Eller had written a book with this premise, I knew I wanted to read it and this book has not disappointed. Every chapter has been a unique look into one of the disciples whom Jesus called to come to him. Each one had struggles that we deal with as well -- maybe it was a past that haunted or doubts that taunted true faith. As I read, I found parts of my own struggles in the disciples' lives. But the highlight was the challenge of the last chapter -- to walk with Jesus as the 13th disciple. Suzie's words are gentle yet powerful with huge insight into practically applyng the Word to our life. She's been changed by the words of Jesus and she wants that for every other woman as well. This is a 5-star read! *****

This book is changing my life. Every page, every chapter stirs my soul to desire a deeper walk with Christ. Jesus calls out to all of us with the invitation to "Come With Me", in Suzie's new book she takes us on a journey with Jesus and his 12 disciples as he is calling them to follow. As we learn more about who they were, we learn more about ourselves; as we see what it truly meant to each of them to walk away from their lives to follow their Savior, we learn more about what it means to us. Will we leave it all behind to follow? What will it cost us? What do I need to leave behind if I 'whisper yes where no wants to take root'? Each chapter brings new insights into my walk with God and challenges me in the best possible way. He is calling you too, "Come With Me" - what will you answer....

Her heart for spiritual growth and developing a strong relationship with Jesus is precious. Not only will you learn more about Jesus' chosen 12, but you'll also learn more about His call on your own life. Once you sit down and soak in the words of this book you'll want to stand and follow Jesus deeper and deeper wherever He leads!

When I picked up #ComeWithMe by Suzanne Eller, I expected a heartwarming book filled with encouragement as we each seek to follow the Call Christ has placed in our lives. I was not disappointed, in fact, I learned more than I imagined! I grew up knowing God and reading about the Disciples, but Suzanne’s book turned my world on its ears as I met the Disciples in a fresh new way. My favorite chapter was eight “When you Feel Like the Chair Guy.” I love working behind the scenes, helping others draw near to the Lord, discovering their strengths and identifying God’s Call in their life. I encourage believers, no matter where you are in your faith, to pick up this book and get ready for a heart changing experience.

What a challenging and inspiring read! In Come With Me, the author takes the reader on a journey through each disciple's encounter with Jesus. I learned so much about their lives that I didn't know, but I also discovered great truths about my own walk with God. Through their experiences, I am encouraged to say "yes" when Jesus calls. I highly recommend this book!

I had barely read into the first chapter and I knew that this was a book that was changing me. The way the Suzanne Eller introduces and discusses each disciple and then challenges us to be the 13th disciple... this was fascinating and eye-opening!

What does it mean to follow Jesus? What does it mean to go deeper with Him? Longing to go deeper in her walk with God, Author and Speaker Suzanne Eller spent months walking with the 12 disciples through the gospel of Luke (with excursions to the other three gospels), exploring what that might look like. In this journey, she came to realize that each of us "are called to walk as the thirteenth disciple." In her new book, Come With Me: Discovering the Beauty of Following Where He Leads, Suzie explains, "When we answer the [Jesus'] call of 'Come with me,' something changes.... It's no longer about church, though we love our church family. It's no longer about being moral just for morality's sake. It's discovering what it means for faith to infiltrate every detail of your life." Just like the 12 disciples did. Come With Me is a spiritually transforming book. Filled with captivating stories, challenging thoughts and poignant scripture passages, it leads the reader to explore her faith and calls her to take it to a deeper, more intimate level. The author provides a catalyst for challenging our comfortable faith and issues an invitation to follow Jesus wherever He calls. She explores what that looks like in the context of real-life issues, like loving difficult people, facing hard circumstances, and feeling unworthy and unappreciated. She gives guidance at the end of each chapter for exploring what following Jesus uniquely looks like in each of our lives. She gently but powerfully encourages the reader through probing questions, a Scripture passage and prayer, and, my favorite section, Living As a Disciple, which includes practical tips to begin that deeper faith walk. It would be difficult to read this engaging book without coming away desiring a closer walk with Jesus. Thankfully, the author provides the practical application to help the reader do just that as she whispers yes to Jesus and begins to experience the unexpected beauty of following wherever He leads. Read Come With Me if you long to go deeper with the Lord and experience a life-changing adventure of following Him! *This honest review is in exchange for a advanced reader’s copy of the book from Bethany House Publishers.

I'm a reader. I love all kinds of books. BUT- not many touch me the way that this book has. Have you grown complacent in your walk with Jesus? Do you feel him calling you into something deep and unknown? Do you just want to know Him on a completely different level? Suzanne leads us into a walk with Him that isn't about what we're doing or where we're going as much as it is about "being" with Him. This book as been an "ah ha" moment for me truly. Suzanne's approach is fresh, powerful yet gentle, inspiring and passionate. STOP what you're doing right now and order this book! I assure you it's the best $$$ you'll spend today!

I've already begun sharing this incredible book with those I deeply love. My heart's desire is that they will also experience the movement of following Jesus wherever He leads. Come With Me is too good to leave on the shelf!!

I can honestly say (and I don't say this often) that this book changed me. It is changing my life—or at the very least, it has had a significant influence on the direction of the changes I feel God making in my life right now. Suzie Eller is the real deal. She lives it. She's absolutely authentic. (And I don't say that a lot, either!) Order this book. Today. And I hope that you'll let yourself take it to heart. Because the truth is, Jesus extends His hand to each of us with that beautiful invitation. COME WITH ME. And when we do, when we let go of our old way of living our life and follow Him, it's a really beautiful thing. And this book explains it in a clear, compelling way—whether you're new to your faith or you've been trying to live it for a long time.

I sincerely enjoyed reading this book. It was obvious that the author spent a great deal of time in personal study and reflection before she put pen to paper. Imagine what it would have been like to be the 13th disciple. To have walked alongside Jesus during his earthly ministry. To have known the other 12 disciples and called them friend. That is exactly what Suzie Eller invites you to do throughout this book. She introduces you to each disciple and pulls amazing and powerful truths from their lives. She challenges you to reconsider what you thought you knew of these men and of their Lord. She inspires you to come along on a fantastic new journey of following Christ whenever, wherever and however He leads. This book was an echo of what God has been trying to teach me over the past year. The importance of following him no matter the cost. It reminded me of so many beautiful truths I have somehow misplaced during the difficult times and refreshed my personal relationship with the Savior I desperately want to know better. If you find yourself in a dry spot, parched and searching for the streams of living water, this book will show you the way. Get a copy and discover the beauty of following where He leads.

Come With Me is an excellent challenge to become the 13th disciple. Suzie's beautiful openness and sweet conversational way of writing is certainly evident is the book. Come With Me is not only a great book, but also a great challenge in following wherever you are called. I'm only a few chapters in and am certain my highlighter is about to run out! If you are debating whether or not this book is for you, I would certainly encourage you to join the #ComeWithMe movement!!

Suzie Eller's Come With Me is one of the most powerful and challenging books I've ever had my hands on. Every single page is highlighted, earmarked, and tabbed. Suzie's gentle & encouraging approach is easy to receive and yet extremely powerful and challenging. To be truthful, it's more appropriate to refer to Come With Me as a journey, rather than a book. Suzie's words are anointed, and beg us to go deeper. This is a journey which will no doubt create a movement that will change the way Christians follow Jesus, which will in turn bring many to answer "Yes" to His call. Each chapter touches on real life circumstances, even those that are considered taboo to many in the Christian community, and allows the reader to walk though those as Jesus would. The perspective of walking through life as the "13th disciple" is fresh and compelling. Suzie creates a parallel between us and the 12 disciples whom Jesus chose to follow him thousands of years ago. We are reminded that they are real men, with real issues, real problems, who dropped everything they knew to follow Jesus. They doubted, they hesitated, they questioned, they messed up, much like we do today. As the reader learns about each of the disciples, they also learn why Jesus chose each of them. The reader is not only taught and challenged, but also encouraged to move forward with solidarity and courage. The reflection section at the end of each chapter lured me far out of my comfort zone (in a good way), and forced me to own up to my choices and beliefs. These areas were often difficult for me; it was as though writing down my answers to the author's questions made my answers more real and undeniable. I seriously cannot remember a time that I was so challenged in my life, where following Jesus is concerned. This is a journey I will not soon forget. Come With Me has asked me to not only follow Jesus regardless of what hurdles are placed in my path, but also to love others as He would (and teaches me how to do just that), to trust in His timing, to focus on the daily miracles that come with simply following Him, and so very much more. Yes Lord, I will come! I will follow! I will go! "The miracle of having belief is that we know where to go when we're in need..... Whatever big thing you are facing, God not only sees it, but he is waiting for you. Step toward him with your hands raised high, no holds-barred, bringing him every uncertainty, every hope, all your fears, all your strength, every aspect of your situation. The 'big' is birthed inside of you as you believe that he can do something with the little that you do have. Whether it leads to... healing... provision... courage... your faith becomes an anchor as you find what you need in those hard places through him." -Suzie Eller, Come With Me
