Overview

Consumed by His Fire is a challenge to "Christianity Lite." Not only does it emphasize the second part of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, it calls for the baptism of Fire. The text researches the Biblical imperatives leading to a heart ablaze with God's own being. It references outbreaks of fire-like experiences in history and personifies aspects of the scripture: "Our God is a consuming fire." Reviewing the early church's encounter in the upper room, the book shows practical applications that emanated from it. Similarly, the author takes the reader on a journey leading to modern outbreaks of spiritual fire. One is introduces to the likes of John G. Lake, Rees Howells, Martha Wing Robinson and the fellowship of the flame. This is a great resource book for Bible study groups.

About the Author

Dr. C.R. Oliver, B.A., MDiv., M.A., PhD., is a retired college professor and ordained minister.

As professor, he has taught a range of subject including Philosophy. Although credentialed in Behavioral Science, he has also utilized his theological training by teaching Biblical studies. He has been published in Reflessi, the International Journal for Counseling; Church Administration, Family Life, Southwestern Sociological Association Journal and the American Journal of Sociology. He has lectured both in the U.S. and abroad and chaired several organizations of behavioral science.

As Minister, he has served twenty-eight years as pastor, alongside teaching and other duties. Ministering in 53 countries, both in education and religion, his range of duties extended from establishing missions in countries to advising and assisting multiple missionary enterprises. His works reflect many of his experiences in these fields of service.

As Author, he is credited with eight books, which are detailed in this volume, plus has been involved in several editing and advising capacities with other religious writers. Due to the popularity of his work, he has been privileged to maintain speaking tours both in the U.S. and abroad.

As President of OEA International, a nonprofit missionary organization, he has continued his involvement with several worthwhile evangelistic and missionary endeavors, including the building of church buildings in Southeast Asia, Africa and Central and South America.

As Publisher, Dr. Oliver is the CEO of Zadok Publications, a division of Oliver Evangelistic Association, International.
