Overview

They locked him up seven years ago. He's still killing.

In the quiet Corktown neighborhood of Detroit, a mutilated body has the residents nervous and for good reason. Detroit Metro Police recognize the handiwork of the serial killer known as the Doctor. But there's a problem with that. They locked him up seven years ago.

Because of her expertise with serial killers, FBI Agent, Abby Kane, is tasked with figuring out how this madman is able to kill again. When she visits the Doctor behind bars, he swears he's innocent and not the psychopath everyone thinks he is. Oddly enough, Abby believes him.

Corktown is a page-turning thriller that dives headfirst into the grit of Detroit. Pick it up now..

Another good book by Ty Hutchinson. Detroit has tried and convicted a man for a series of murders and has locked him away, but the brutal killings have started again. Abby Kane, FBI, is called in to catch who they claim to be a copy-cat killer. When she visits the convicted killer in prison, he claims his innocence. The problem is that she believes him. Why the cover up? How high does it go? How will she catch the real killer if the local authorities are working to cover up the past? Corktown is a thrilling ride, filled with great characters and non-stop action.

Being from Michigan I was interested in reading this book just for the fact its based here. Turned out to be a good read, I read it in one day. Brings in some of the corruption that thecity of Detroit has been dealing and shows what can happen when a mayor answers no one.

Glib hip writing is no excuse for explicit pornographic dialogue in the story. The lady cop exchanging suggestive comments with the evil killer in prison before she finally goes at him agressively. If I wanted to read pornography that's what I would have purchased. S&M and sex toys starting off the first murder should give you a clue. I would have given it zero stars but the program won't let me do that

There are a couple of things that make this book rather unique. For one, the killer is a married couple who both enjoy killing, which you do not find very often. The second being that there are a couple of very steamy sex scenes in the book, one that involves the killers in context with their killing. Do not read this if that is going to upset you. Having said that, this is a well written, interesting and suspenseful novel. I thought that Hutchinson did a good job of developing his characters and just enough with Abby Kane to make you want to read more in the series.

The story itself is very good but I hate the S&M stuff and overly-graphic sex. Also it gets annoying for the agent to stupidly go off on her own so often - the odds are against her staying alive the way she works.

The Abby Kane thrillers are awesome, I can’t put the books down. Each book is spellbinding.

Female character written by a man with porno fantasies. Very very explicit sex, including rape and sadism. Could have been a good mystery but the FBI agent is a lone wolf who puts herself, her fellow agents, and innocent people at great risk for no good reason, doing things no real agent would do. Skip this one. JB
