The author of Creative Watercolor (Quarry Books, 2018), Ana Victoria Calderon is a Mexican/American watercolor artist and teacher with a bachelor's degree in Information Design and continued studies in Fine Arts. Her licensed artwork can be seen in retail outlets throughout the United States and Europe, on a wide variety of products, and she also sells prints of her artwork on Etsy. Ana teaches in-person workshops and hosts creative retreats in Tulum, Mexico, as well as more than 50,000 students on Skillshare, where she is a Top Teacher. This book is super accessible, simple, modern and fun. Ana Victoria does an amazing job at sharing the best of her watercolor techniques in one simple book. I loved the clean photography and simple step by step instructions that make watercolor exciting and fun. Ana Victoria's writing style is clear, concise and inviting constantly encouraging you to follow your own unique painting style. The book covers all the basics, from supplies to color theory, basic painting techniques, and cute projects. The techniques build on each other yet it all of it feels super easy to do. I definitely recommend this book if you have been meaning to try watercolor painting!
