Cuckoo in the Chocolate: A Comedy Novel from Up North. And Down South.
Is every politician a lying and cheating toe-rag? Former Whitehall advisor, Rachael Russell has every good reason to feel cynical about the world, especially after being catapulted into lone parenthood, following the tragic death of her husband. But when a strange twist of fate finds this leftie feminist spending the night with uber-posh Cabinet Minister Michael, her long-held biases about love, life and class consciousness finally begin to crumble. But then something happens that even Rachael, Goddess of Farce and Disasters, could never have predicted. Will she ever be able to laugh again? ------------------------------- "Longden's second novel raises a hearty cheer for women who are gorgeous but don't know it, shy but don't show it. Here it is folks - partly political, socio-emotional, highly entertaining choc-lit" - Leonora Rustmaova aka 'Miss Rusty' "This is a writer who is aways sensitive and at times downright hilarious. Her gritty adventures and unabashed northern chutzpah makes her writing unique." Razwan ul-Haq 'The Islamic Artist'
