About the Author

Martha Johnson was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, but moved to California at a very young age, leaving, according to her mother, “a trail of dirty diapers clear across the county.” She attended elementary and high school in Inglewood, California. She received an associate of arts degree from El Camino Junior College in Torrance and spent one year at Hawaii Pacific College in downtown Honolulu. She received a BS of education degree from Northern Arizona University in 1976.
Martha has been writing for a number of years but only recently decided to “put something out there and see if anyone bit.” Most of her stories were written for her own children and her nieces and nephews.
Married since 1976, she has two grown sons still living in the San Francisco Bay Area; though she and her husband, Rich, and two cats (Mongo and Abby) have since moved to Chandler, Arizona. She is, according to friends, “crazy accident-prone.” Despite that, she enjoys swimming, white-water rafting, hiking, writing, and reading science fiction and fantasy.
