Homicide Detective Josh Solomon returns home after a grueling day at work and sees two intruders running from his house. After calling for back-up, he pursues them but is unable to apprehend them. He returns home and finds his wife Olivia, who has returned unexpectedly a day early from a trip, lying in their bedroom mortally wounded. She tries futilely to tell him something but he cannot understand her. Caitlyn Lindsey, a co-worker of Olivia at Medtech, is becoming quite concerned. There have now been three deaths of people involved in a highly specialized research project at Medtech that could potentially result in a deadly bioterrorism weapon. Caitlyn has asked a few too many questions and now fears for her life. She contacts Josh, and they begin to put the pieces together. Now someone has decided to frame Josh for his wife's murder; someone in the police department is "dirty" but who? The pace escalates when the one person Josh can trust is murdered. Josh and Caitlyn are in a race against time to gather evidence to prove his innocence and to stop the planned release of a deadly toxin as well as save their own lives. This is a highly suspenseful book with many twists and turns as well as a budding romance which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Detective Josh Solomon thought his wife Olivia was murdered by home invaders. A year later, the case is closed. Or is it? Olivia's coworker is driven off the road and almost dies. She realizes that her life is in danger and turns to the only friend she has who can help - Josh. Together, they discover clues that reveal more is at stake than they previously realized. They must decide who they can trust and work together before it's too late. "Deadly Intentions" is a fast-paced, action-packed book. Lisa Harris writes in a tight, exciting way that's easy to read. I didn't want to put this book down! There is violence, some sexual innuendo and romance in this book. The main characters also have a relationship with Jesus. Overall, "Deadly Intentions" an exciting, clean read. I recommend this book to action, crime and mystery fans. It's thrilling!

This is an intricately woven romantic suspense novel! I fell in love with both of the main characters. They are very well developed and presented. They both have a lot of emotional hurt that they are carrying. Caitlyn’s wounds came as a child. Josh’s heart was broken in the beginning of the book when his wife was brutally murdered. The plot is wonderful. It is filled with lots of twists and turns that kept my interest. Life interrupted my reading time but I HAD to come back every time I had a few minuted. The story stayed in my head and the plot kept me trying to figure things out even when I didn’t have time to read. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that both Caitlyn and Josh repeatedly thought about God and were trying to figure out how their situations could be in God’s plan and how they could trust Him to get them through it. Three suspicious deaths, one company, one project; and he did not believe in coincidences. Josh Solomon had not seen the problem, but his wife’s colleague, Caitlyn Lindsey did and together they would need to pull together the evidence to demonstrate the very real, not theoretical, issue of bioterrorism in Houston, Texas. Lisa Harris has written a faith-based, romantic, thriller, that this reader could not put down. The mix of science, mystery, and bioterrorism, make the author’s latest book one of her best. Whether one is looking for a great fall read, a book to add to the church or local public library, or as a gift for an avid reader, Deadly Intentions may just fill the bill ______________ This review is based on a free electronic copy provided by the publisher for the purpose of creating this review. I actually loved Deadly Intentions by Lisa Harris! It was the perfect fast paced suspense story with inspiration and romance woven in also. Detective Josh Solomon always thought his wife's murder was from a random home invasion, but when her co-worker and friend Caitlyn Lindsey shows up a year later asking for his help he realizes that his wife's murder wasn't random and there is so much more that is going on than he ever expected. I'm looking forward to reading more wonderful stories by this author in the future. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

This is a suspenseful, intense story in which the two main characters, Josh and Catilyn, are running for their lives and have no idea who to trust. The action begins on the very first page and there’s never a chance to catch your breathe until the story’s conclusion. This is a terrific storyline and. I developed empathy for these two characters. This story has twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, which made it an absorbing story to read. If you love Christian suspense fiction, you will love this story. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions own.

I always enjoy a Lisa Harris book and this one was no exception. Caitlyn and Josh find themselves on a heart-racing journey, both with adventure and falling for each other. Neither of them knows who they can trust and I wasn’t sure either. A lot of questions that will keep pushing you through this book. A copy of this book was given to me by the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Wow! What a fast-paced, suspense-filled book! I had such a hard time putting it down! This book had lots of chases and guns and romance – but also reality, “…this isn’t some storybook tale where everything ends when the hero kisses the heroine. What about after that moment? Things don’t always work out that way in real life. They get messy. Men walk out, abuse their spouses, or they die. And hearts get broken.” This book just had so many twists and turns and make you think moments as Caitlyn not only has to elude her pursuers but also deal with her heart. I also loved the spiritual element woven in the book – as the characters examine their faith. At one-point Caitlyn says, “Honestly, biology has only managed to strengthen it (her faith). … My work has given me an incredible glimpse into who he is.” Great book and I highly recommend if you like thrillers. I really like Lisa’s books! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I am freely writing a review - all thoughts and opinions are my own.

YES YES YES!!! I love it! After the deaths of three of her co-workers, Caitlyn Lindsey begins to think that something may be going on behind the scenes at her employer, MedTech Labs. After asking some questions and getting run off the road, Caitlyn takes a risk by reaching out to a detective by the name of Josh Solomon, who also happens to be the widow of one of the dead employees. It’s up to her to convince him that his wife was murdered by someone she worked with, while also trying to stay alive. In a search for the truth, she will have to break some rules. Will she be able to live with herself when it’s all over? Lisa Harris has slowly crept into my list of “must read everything they write” authors. I knew I liked her writing, but this book really blew me away. I put it down this morning and am still reeling from all of the twists and turns. I’m feeling emotionally exhausted, but in a good way! This is exactly the kind of book hangover I hope to have from a good Christian suspense novel. You know deep down that everything is going to work out in the end, but Harris had a way of throwing in just one more twist that made you think “this is the book that won’t have a happy ending.” Her quick but profound way of developing the characters leaves you feeling like you’re rooting for old friends as they embark on a mission for their lives. Anything but predictable, this book will have you at the edge of your seat and turning pages as fast as you can. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends who love suspense. The faith issues in this story are realistic and captivating but not preachy or pushy. There is often a delicate balance when characters are put into hard situations, and I felt like Harris managed the believability of faith and fear/turmoil very well. I was given an early copy of this manuscript through NetGalley for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

My 1st book ever by this author!! I think I will read some more books by this author in the near future. Her writing style is wonderful!! She has added a little bit of everything to make it a page turner from when you open the book until the end!! I've never liked suspense novels until I picked up one of Dana Mentiks, Lynette Eason and Jessica R Patch books. I'm totally hooked especially if romance is involved with God fearing people!! I'm glad to find I'm not the only one that shouts at the characters saying Look behind you! or get him/her get them!! Then u be like slapping your hand across your face when they don't right away but that is what makes a good story!! This is a great clean read if you live Christian Romance and Suspense all wrapped into one!! I strongly encourage my reader friends to read this awesome book!! My thanks to Netgelley for providing a copy of this early read. No compensations were received. All opinions are my own.

This story was . . . just okay. I had the plot pretty much figured by the time I was a quarter of the way into it, so that takes a lot of points off for me. If you're looking for a relaxing light mystery that doesn't take much emotional involvement . . . you can have my copy. :) The characters were realistic enough, and I liked Josh's partner Quinton. Josh and Caitlyn's relationship turned out pretty well, too. But the dialogue was awkward at times and some the situations were hard to believe. Lisa Harris is an award-winning, bestselling author, so I'm sure some of her other books are great, and I'd like to give one a try someday! But this new release had the feel of being churned out without much complexity or uniqueness.

If you love fast-paced romantic suspense, you’ll love this book by master suspense author Lisa Harris. With clear and concise writing, well-drawn characters, and lots of twists, this story is packed with action and adventures. The main characters, Caitlyn and Josh, are engaging and their chemistry is believable. I did get a little confused at times as there were a lot of secondary characters to try to remember. Harris obviously has done her research, and it shows in the impeccable details and gripping plot throughout the book. With lots of suspense, intrigue, a touch of romance, and uplifting messages of faith, courage, and hope, this book has something for almost everyone. I’m looking forward to more books by this author. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I love action books such as this! They take you on a wild ride and leave you feeling like you need a nap after you read them. Love the bioterrorism storyline with a little romance too. It's a common theme in these books, which, I'm not sure if I feel it's overdone or not. It's just predictable. I still like reading them but sometimes I just wish the story would go a little differently from all the other books just like it! I feel like some parts of the storyline are overly predictable and unrealistic. Like when does it ever happen that way? All of a sudden? What! Some parts of the story move super quick and are on point. Others come out of nowhere and are like what just happened? How did we get from this point to this point? Did a few pages get ripped out of my book? Overall, the story is good and will keep you interested for sure. I give this book 3 stars. I received a copy of this book from Revell. I was under no requirement to write a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

It is another heart pounding fast pace story that will draw readers in from the beginning. The author cleverly hits readers with intrigue that starts from the first page and never lets up. It is not easy to always hold readers attention, but this author has proven to do it book after book. The characters are clever, faith based , cautious and risk takers. Caitlyn is uneasy with deaths of fellow workers in the lab. There is a secret brewing among the deaths and Caitlyn is determined to find out the real reason they died. I loved her fierce ability to look past the obvious and dig deeper. It is very unnerving for Caitlyn after an almost tragic accident happens to her. Is she getting closer to answers? Who is trying to stop her from finding out the truth and why? The addition of Josh in the story is perfect as he tries to help Caitlyn unravel lies and reach the truth in this edge of your seat mystery. Josh is still grieving the loss of someone which could hamper his investigation, but he knows that Caitlyn needs his help. The author puts plenty of twists in the story that kept me guessing. The faith element was good and elevated the story with hope. I loved reading this very intriguing story and following along as Caitlyn and Josh put their lives at risk to find answers. I was provided an arc copy of this book from Revell Publishing, The review is my own opinion.

This book is pretty much a non-stop action ride full of twists, turns and surprises. It's an quick and easy read as I read it in less than a day. I enjoyed the characters of Caitlyn and Josh. They were easy to like and their banter gave a bit of levity to the mystery they are trying desperately to unravel. The book flowed well and quickly and was mostly easy to follow(I had a bit of trouble with the sciency parts but I understood enough to get the basic idea). I didn't like a couple of the plot twists which docked my rating a bit, but it's a good solid suspense read and I look forward to more from Lisa in the future. I received this book from RevellReads and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

Is it her imagination or are the people on Caitlyn's team dying one by one unexpectedly? When she starts asking questions about these deaths, her life all of a sudden becomes a target. So she goes to the one person who she thinks she can trust, detective Josh Solomon. Josh is hesitant to help Caitlyn as his wife was one of those team members who died. But as they dig deeper in to the deaths, ugly truths start to become more evident, even within Josh's own department. With no one to trust, Josh and Caitlyn try and stay one step ahead of who ever is out to kill them before they are silenced forever. In this suspense packed story, Harris weaves a thriller that is hard to put down. Using descriptive story writing, you feel like you are right next to all the action as it takes place. Harris takes you on a fast paced journey with the characters as they race against the clock. She has written another great book that keeps you flipping the pages right to the end. If you enjoy thrilling suspense novels, this is the book for you! Revell Reads sent me this complimentary book to review. Opinions expressed are my own.

This is a book that is so full of twists and turns and romance and suspense. It’s kind of spooky to think that there could be researchers out there that are coming up with viruses that could be so deadly and that people that want to use them on others. There were many sad parts to this story that made me cry. Love the characters. I received a copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Can they trust anyone around them? I think I probably say this with every Lisa Harris book that I read, but, I will say it again. I think Deadly Intentions is my favorite one so far. I loved it! It was tense. It was riveting. It was gripping. It was action-packed romantic suspense at its best! There are some books that are impossible to put down, Deadly Intentions was one of those. Seemingly ripped from today's headlines this story of danger and betrayal was as relevant as it was entertaining. Seriously, if you want to sleep tonight, don't read this chillingly plausible story right before bed....or at least leave your light on... Lisa Harris is one of my all-time favorite romantic suspense authors and she just seems to get better and better with each new release. Deadly Intentions is a perfect example of that fact. If you love a story with equal amounts of danger, intrigue, and romance, with a faith perspective, I would highly recommend Lisa Harris's latest novel... (I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)

Wow!!! What a fantastic thriller! It kept me on the edge of my seat! Caitlyn Lindsey, research scientist, discovers someone is after her when car that was following her throws her of the road! Not only that but three colleagues from her research team, have accidentally died, even one of them supposedly committed suicide, each one after another in the last year. Both Olivia and Helen told her there was something wrong in a project they they seemed to want to share, but they never could do it before they died. These deaths, including her boss from a heart attack, are nothing close to accidental, and she needs help, so she turns to Josh Solomon, Olivia -her colleague and friend- who is also a cop, for help to uncover this mysterious and deadly events. Josh doesn’t want to relive his wife’s death and his boss doesn’t want to reopen the case. But things start happening and they start discovering proofs that something very wrong and probably deadly has been going on in Caitlyn’s lab research. Something that may even be a potential danger to humanity... Is that the reason for these homicides? Did these deceased scientists knew more than they should or discovered a hidden or illegal project? This is a total page turner. I really couldn’t stop reading it. One thing lead to another and the puzzle got more complicated as the book progressed. One thing is sure. Now they want them both killed and they have to avoid their unknown pursuers and discover who is behind this and what the threat really means. There’s lot of danger and intrigue. I also loved both main characters. They were strong, respectful, kind, and went beyond their comfort zone to solve this very high risk case. While they were at it, slow attraction and admiration starts to grow. I loved that the romance was sweet and progressive, nothing rash or at first sight. It was really sweet. I totally recommend this book. It will keep you engaged from page one until the end. You can trust no one!! Lisa Harris is a master in the Romantic Suspense genre! A must read! I received a gifted copy of this book from the author but this is my voluntary and unbiased review.

'How do I make them believe me, God?' This is Detective Josh Solomon's thought as he finds himself being interrogated as a suspect in his wife's murder. The irony is that two men have already been convicted for this murder that occurred one year earlier but suddenly, after a series of questionable deaths, he and research scientist Caitlyn Lindsey have begun to wonder if these men are truly guilty. And now, Josh finds himself as the prime suspect in the murder of both his wife Olivia and his police partner Quinton Lambert. Deadly Intentions is an exciting and intriguing tale that left me needing to learn more and I found it hard to put down as I searched for the cause of all of this madness. A deadly virus that could be used as a bio-weapon if put in the wrong hands appears to be the motive behind the many murders and now, in their race to find answers, Josh and Caitlyn are apparently the next targets! Author Lisa Harris has an unique way of showing both the good and evil in mankind and I appreciate that she often shares a faith-based message in her books. In Deadly Intentions, Josh and Caitlyn both pray as they face the dangerous situations but Caitlyn struggles with her relationship with God. 'What was she supposed to do when she couldn't hear God's voice? When she had no idea what to do next?' Deadly Intentions is filled with excitement, danger, and suspense and there is also the promise of a romance between Josh and Caitlyn. Readers who enjoy romantic suspense and Christian fiction are in for a treat! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group. A favorable review was not required and these are my own thoughts.

Whew! I haven't gotten that emotionally involved (read: angry) since Terri Blackstock's If I Run series!!! Man oh man, my heart needs time to calm down. Caitlyn Lindsey is starting to get suspicious. After the death of a coworker, she starts asking questions and apparently someone doesn't like it. Needing help, she turns to detective Josh Solomon, who has his own personal stake in what is going on. What got me is that this scenario is so realistic. It actually goes on and I absolutely hate when the good guys are getting blamed for things! Makes me so mad! So Harris did a good job of getting me attached to the characters and rooting for them.! You get to a point where you question if everyone will make it out alive. I even got suspicious of one of the good guys! This book will grab you and not let go, so be forewarned and decide well when to start reading :) An excellent story! Thanks to NetGalley and Revell for a copy. All opinions are my own. A favorable review was not required.

“Deadly Intentions”by Lisa Harris was the first book that I read by the author. From page one I was hooked. Caitlyn Lindsey is convinced that someone is taking out her team one by one. First a research partner and friend was killed in a home invasion, than her boss died in a suspicious car accident, then to top if off another partner supposedly committed suicide. Caitlyn is afraid for her life and turns to one of the victims’ husbands, Detective Josh Solomon. The two of them can not trust anyone including Josh’s co-workers who are also detectives. They must discover the truth about who is after Caitlyn’s team before it’s too late with a sense of urgency and danger. “Deadly Intentions” is full of suspense, mystery and romance that will keep you up reading till the last page. The book did not disappoint and will definitely be reading more of the author’s books. Lisa Harris is a master story teller and takes the reader deep into the heart of fear. I highly recommend the book. I received a copy of this book by Revell Reads in exchange for an honest opinion.

I've always enjoyed Lisa Harris's books, but with "Deadly Intentions", she has moved her writing to a whole higher level. The plot is solid, and I had two suspects in mind whom the lead male character, police detective Josh Solomon, trusted. Well, neither turned out to be one of the bad guys. The lead female character, Caitlyn Lindsey, turned out to have tremendous reserves that allowed her to keep everything together. Together they have to scramble to stay alive while the killers of Josh's wife, and Caitlyn's associates continuously pursue them. Ms Harris did an excellent job of making Josh and Caitlyn very real. The have their strong and weak points, and all very believable. While there was clearly a romantic interest that they both began to feel, both pushed it away because of the run for their lives, and because of the history that each had. But, you could tell they were headed for something more after the danger was over. Ms Harris also did a superb job of keeping the action moving. They barely had time for a breather through the whole story. I found myself reading faster and faster to see how it would end. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Christian suspense.

4.5 stars! Lisa Harris has quickly been climbing her way up my top favorite suspense authors list, and with the 300-plus page Deadly Intentions, I think she has made it to my top five! Harris tackles some very difficult topics in her newest release from Revell, including the loss of a spouse and loved one, abuse, betrayal, and more. I applaud her not only for attempting to take on these topics, but for doing it so well. From the prologue, the reader can't help but be sucked into the emotions of the story. I think a lot of books in this genre can forget to include the emotional and psychological impact of the hard events the story touches upon, and the emotional aspect gets lost. But this book ends up being very emotive as Harris dives deep into some tough situations. Detective Josh Solomon and research scientist Caitlyn Lindsey are both very real characters who are dealing with some real-life issues, which instantly makes them so relatable. Any good suspense novel has many twists and turns, but Harris takes it to a new level with Deadly Intentions. My expectations were turned on their head about a quarter of the way through, and the book continues in that vein with smaller twists throughout the remainder of the story. This one definitely keeps you on your toes! All in all, this story is a wild ride from page one! If you are a fan of romantic suspense (lighter on the romance than suspense) with lots of twists and emotion, I highly recommend checking out Deadly Intentions! FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
