Doc Ford has long lived a double life. But in this electrifying New York Times bestselling novel, it may finally have caught up to him...
On a moonless night on Sanibel Island, Florida, marine biologist Marion “Doc” Ford carefully watches a video of a hooded man executing three hostages. The man is an American working with ISIS, and in the next few days, it’ll be Ford’s job, as part of his shadowy second life, to make sure the man never kills anybody else again.
But a lot can go wrong in a few days, and Ford has no way of knowing that not only will the operation prove to be a lot more complicated than he has anticipated, but that he’ll end up bringing those complications back with him to the small community of boaters, guides, lovers, and friends in Dinkin’s Bay, where he’s long made his home.
Someone has taken Ford’s actions very personally, and now no one there is safe—least of all, Ford himself.

I was fortunate enough to receive a pre-publish copy of this title a month ago and spent the following weekend burning through the pages. I then counted down the days to when I could write this review because I couldn't wait to tell fans and new readers how incredibly engaging this book is. Perhaps it's the sea in me or my island girl upbringing that connects me with White's storytelling but one thing is for certain, Randy Wayne White knows how to create an addiction to Doc Ford (and Tomlinson). I need more! MORE!
"Deep Blue" is FANTASTIC! Best DOC FORD book! A seamless, action-packed thriller that I literally could not put down, and didn't. Doc Ford is on a manhunt for an American assassin who works for ISIS. It's Ford's job to make sure this man won't execute more hostages. Ford tracks him to Mexico while back home it's Christmas time and the beloved kooky characters in Dinkins Bay are in holiday mode but evil lurks there too. Tomlinson and Doc are on their own missions to save Dinkins Bay from destruction by a a brilliant crazed tech head bent on personal revenge. This is a 5 star read. memorable characters, impeccable research and first class writing are the author's trademark. No one makes you feel Florida like Randy Wayne White!
Love his books in past but this one is awful.. Never figured out the plot and no idea what this story is about after wadeing through it. 16 different plots and not one ever concluded or had any relation to others!!!
A very confusing Doc Ford tale. Calls for a re-read. Too many unexplained plot lines.
