Megan Crane is one of the few authors whose biker romances are an auto-read for me because she perfectly captures the passion and emotions in her characters as well humanizes her outlaw/bad boy bikers in a way that has me rooting for their happiness. And make no mistake: these guys live in the gray areas and in some cases, in the black; they may be crass, crude and undiscriminating in many things but inside they are still men who want a connection with another person, separate from the biker brotherhood and they fall in love just like everyone else. In Lagrange, Louisiana the Devil’s Keepers motorcycle club runs things and in the small bayou town, the only future available is tied to them, unless you get out. Merritt Broussard always knew she was headed for bigger things and a better future outside Lagrange and nothing was going to keep her in town, not even a sexy biker who rocked her world in every way. Well, it's been five years and Merritt has ditched her promising career as a criminal defense attorney in New York and is on the run from a crazy ex, who happens to be the golden boy at her law firm. The bayou may be the only place she can hide in and since she made sure to distance herself from her hometown, it's a stretch to think that she can be traced there. But... returning home means facing the man she left behind and the promise he made to her when she left. Merritt is very good at burying her feelings and playing a part, which she did when pretended that Greeley was nothing more than an itch she could scratch and move on from. But she's barely back in town when she comes face to face with him and gets a reminder of just how potent the hunger and need between them is. Joseph “Greeley” Shaw is a walking advertisement for the biker lifestyle. He's hard, rough and completely dedicated to his brothers. As the sergeant-at-arms of the Devil's Keepers, it's his responsibility to keep the guys in line and weakness cannot be tolerated. The only time he opened up to let someone in, she ground his heart in the dust and he vowed never to give in to such weakness again. But she's back and he has to face the fact that his feelings for her have always been more than just a physical attraction. She's his woman and he'll do anything to protect her, and when her issues get tangled with club business, he has a tough choice to make, but this time he won't be letting her go. I'll say this again: Ms. Crane knows how to pull her readers in with breath-stealing craving and passionate scenes between her characters. There's also the dynamics of the club and the friction among its officers. There are fissures in the foundation and brothers are going to have to choose sides sooner or later. I will be following this series to the end to see where that story arc leads to. DEVIL'S HONOR is definitely not to be missed and I only hope the rest of the series comes out in quick succession. I've only read a couple of MC romances but this is the one that has made me a believer. If I knew a real life version of Greeley, I would be a complete goner. He made me swoon, even when he was being a complete badass for his club. Merritt totally hold her own and I loved watching her figure out how she really felt about the club and her hometown, even if she protested too much. Plus, their chemistry together was off the charts. I could not put this one down and I can't wait to see what happens next in this series. There's a big picture storyline element that left me with all kinds of questions.

Wow! What an exciting start to this series. Crane explodes onto the scene with a gritty world that readers can easily picture. The racy and hard hitting plot kept me on my toes. The pages sizzled as Crane's characters came to life in the most vivid of ways. I love how we got to know not only the main characters but also so many different members of the club. The intertwining and totally interdependent plot lines were fantastic and really had me guessing what's going to happen next. I definitely can't wait to devour each of these novels as they are released. Crane has me hooked and impatiently waiting for more from the Devil's Keepers. Please note that I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this novel.

"Devil's Honor", the first book in the 'Devil's Keepers' series, is a great read for anyone that loves MC romance. This is the first book that I have read by Megan Crane, and I must say she knows how to write a really good MC book. Merritt comes back to town to hide where she feels safest. Greeley is the man she left behind and the bad boy in the MC. Greeley and Merritt's romance was not by any means a smooth ride since she came back to town. I did feel as if Merritt was a bit immature in some parts of the book, but it made much more sense when she explains her life. Greeley was a hot take charge man with a tender side for Merritt, the love of his life. He had grit, maturity, honor, and was edgy, but knew his place in the club without being just a yes man. There was also a depth of story with his feelings as well as Merritt's that gave the story great insight to both characters. There was a lot of story packed into 200 pages and I look forward to reading more of this great series. I would like to thank NetGalley and Loveswept for gifting me with an ARC of "Devil's Honor" and asking for my honest opinion. I was not compensated in any way for my opinion. This is mine. 425 Stars!

This story has heat, danger, anger, forgiveness, and love. Merritt left Greeley to have a better life. She was wrong and came back. The heat between the two never died. I could not stop reading this story. The grit as well as the love kept me intrigued. I look forward to reading more in this series. I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my unsolicited review.

A Sexy and action packed start to this new MC series! I don’t read a lot of motorcycle club series but I’ve read a few, and this one seems to have all the main details down pat. The men have an interesting relationship with the women in their midst. For most, getting laid at the end of the day and avoiding commitment seems par for the course, with the exception of those who have an ‘old lady’ (and even then, faithfulness is not guaranteed). The clubhouse scenes take on the rough, gritty, and sex-laden atmosphere one expects. Things aren’t okay in MC land and it’s clear that there is tension between Greeley and the MC president Digger who is becoming increasingly closed off and secretive. There are a fair number of scenes centered at the clubhouse or at the local strip club, where Meritt’s best friend Lanie still works. In fact, the town of Lagrange is pretty clearly under the protection of the club and everyone has some kind of involvement with it. Merritt’s father was the doctor for the club members for many years and as a result Merritt has got a standing of sorts with the members, not to mention that everyone is aware of her hookup with Greeley before and knows to keep their hands off. I like how the business of running the club is detailed, the politics that runs behind the decisions and how the characters interact with each other. Greeley appears at first to be a fairly stereotypical biker. He’s hard, he’s rough, he’s all business. He’s also nursing a little bit of a broken heart from when Merritt left him, though he’ll never admit it out loud. Having her back in town pushes him to face those feelings, though he’d rather just imagine that their relationship was only ever about sex. In truth, he’s a very intelligent man who enjoyed the conversations he had with Merritt as much as the sex. Though at first he tries to maintain an emotional distance from her (even as he is ready to re-establish his physical dominance) it’s not long before he is sharing things with her that make Merritt realize how much value she has in his life, and it’s a lot more than she expected. As far as Merritt goes, she’s coming to grips with the fact that she’s never let go of her feelings for Greeley either. She might have put them out of her mind while in New York, but they are very present now. The difficulty is in believing that she could be safe here in Lagrange. She knows her ex won’t stop looking for her, and that she’ll have to move on soon if she’s to keep one step ahead of him. She doesn’t yet trust Greeley enough to spill the details of why she’s really back, and Greeley can sense she’s got one foot out the door again. This time though, he’s not going let it shut on him. The second half of the story brings the situation Merritt faced in New York right to her doorstep in some intense and exciting scenes. Plus, the club problems take on some new significance. Not all the subplots in this story are resolved, paving the way for an ongoing story arc in the next few books. Merritt and Greeley do admit to their feelings (along the way experiencing some pretty steamy scenes together) and we get a happy for now ending that’s appropriate for the characters and the lifestyle. I hope the next in the series, Devil’s Mark is just as good as this one.

A really good start to a new series, I am looking forward to more. This is a really good MC series although Merritt seemed a bit weak to me. I liked the story and Greeley is great. This is a fast paced suspense filled read. I really liked it.

Joseph/Greeley was the Enforcer/ Sergeants Of Arms of Devil’s Keepers MC. Five years ago when he was more boy than man he met and fell in love with Merritt. But Greeley wasn’t a boy anymore he was tougher and definitely more dangerous. Merritt choose her law career over Greeley. She had lost her mother and her dad instilled in her get out of Lagrange and make something of herself and that is why she left. But then merritt had to also leave her job as a criminal defense lawyer in a NYC law firm because her boss/ ex boyfriend Anthony was crazy and of course worked at the same form and would not leaver her alone. Merritt is on the run from Anthony and returns to Lagrange. Greeley had told Merritt if she ever returned he would either kill her or never let her go again. But Merritt also knew she could trust Greeley. Greeley is now is focused and loyal to Devil’s Keepers. Then Greeley finds out Merritt is back and is very persistent as far as Merritt is concerned. But Greeley also cared about Merritt even if he was angry at her. Merritt and Greeley were opposites but had very hot chemistry between them. I liked this story a lot but sometimes felt as though something was left out. I loved how Greeley was toward Merritt showed he still had softness where she was concerned. At times I did get frustrated with Merritt’s back and forth with Greeley. I liked the plot and this was a quick and easy read. The story pulled me in right away and kept my interest until the end. I liked the characters a lot and I liked the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

Merritt Broussard grew up knowing she had two choices if she stayed in Lagrange: run with the outlaws or get left in their dust. So she got the hell out, leaving behind a bad-boy biker and scorching memories of their summer fling. Now Merritt’s back, with trouble on her tail, and the sergeant-at-arms of the Devil’s Keepers is the one person she can still trust. But Greeley isn’t the boy she remembers. He’s harder now, more dangerous—and even more alluring. Joseph “Greeley” Shaw loves two things: his bike and his club. At eighteen, he escaped a rough life, found the Devil’s Keepers on the wrong side of a bad weekend, and never looked back. Greeley swore to live and die by their code: Devil’s Keepers first, Devil’s Keepers forever. No one comes between him and his brothers—except for the tantalizing woman who touched his soul. Greeley’s the kind of man who honors his commitments . . . and Merritt is one promise he’s determined to keep. Review: Merritt ran away five years ago thinking there were greener pastures, but when trouble strikes she runs home to the place she knows she will be safe. Running back includes coming back to Greeley who told her that if she ever came back he was not letting her get away again. Of course things getting interesting from there. First things that comes to mind after reading this book...raw and sexy. Greeley and Merritt have a passion that cannot be denied even when they know they should. Their intimate scenes were extremely hot and passionate. The next thought that comes to mind is what the heck is the deal with the MC the Greeley is part of? There is lots that is going on that have not been touched yet and since this is the first in the series I would assume more will come out as the series goes on. Not to give too much away, but Merritt is running from an ex who catches up to her and for those affected by attempted rape scenes be warned there is one. On the whole I say this is a great start to this new series an cannot wait to see what happens next. 3.5Stars *I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book furnished by the publisher.*

Great start to a series. Devil’s Honor is the first book I’ve read by Megan Crane, and once I read the blurb I was excited to read this MC story. It’s also a second chance romance which is one of my favorite tropes. Woven into the story is a bit of suspense, an abusive ex who considers the heroine his toy and refuses to let go before she’s sufficiently broken. Merritt Broussard, the only daughter of the town doctor, was raised by her father whose main goal was for Merritt to have a better life, anywhere outside of Lagrange, the small bayou town in Louisiana. But a summer fling with bad boy Joseph “Greely” Shaw makes a permanent mark in Merritt’s heart, and even after leaving Greely to pursue her career in New York she’s always had him in her heart. Staying home to make a life with Greely was never an option. Greely’s always loved the woman that got away five years ago, but he’s never forgotten her. Now Merritt is home for some reason and he’s determined to find out why she’s running scared. As a respected member of Devil’s Keeper MC, Greely’s instincts go on high alert, needing to protect Merritt at all cost. No matter how much she’s in denial about their relationship, or how stubborn Merritt becomes, Greely is determined to prove to her that she belongs by his side. Greely’s all about being alpha, dominant and protective of what’s his. This time around he’s making a claim on Merritt. Throw in a devious MC president, and some underhanded dealings, an abusive ex-boyfriend with ties to the cartel, and this story gets a little tense. Merritt can’t believe her luck. Thinking she’s left the small town of Lagrange to escape an outlaw biker but finds trouble in the form of a psycho ex-boyfriend, a fellow attorney who is owned by the cartel. I just loved Lanie Latour, Merritt’s childhood BFF. She is a great secondary character. She’s uninhibited, sexy and really knows what she wants. Really enjoyed the challenge she dared Merritt stripping at the club which, of course, had Greely all shades of mad. Devil’s Honor has a wonderful plot wrapped in a bit of suspense. It had me flying through the pages, and I was on the edge expecting whether the psycho ex would find Merritt. I loved the sizzle between Merritt and Greely, and I expect we’ll find out more about Devil’s Keeper MC in the next book of the series. I'm hooked! Megan Crane kicks off a new series "The Devil's Keepers" about a motorcycle club deep in the swamps of Louisiana and we get our first taste with bad boy Greeley, the sexy hot sergeant at arms. He's hot, he's demanding but when it's Merritt in front of him, he's real. Loved their raw connection! Joseph "Greeley" Shaw swore his life to The Devil's Keepers at the tender age of 18 when he sought the salvation of a family. He has never regretted it, nor looked back. He lives and breathes for his club. The only other thing that ever touched his heart was the one and only woman he's ever loved, but she put a knife in his heart when she walked out on him 5 years ago. Merritt Broussard told herself when she got herself out of the Bayou all those years ago that she'd never be back. For five long years, she kept that promise to herself, but now that she has danger chasing after her, she runs to the only place she's ever felt safe, and winds up back in Greeley's arms. They never forgot each other. They continued living, they had other connections, but they never let go of the memories of each other. Now she's back, in his bed and still in his heart. When he learns why she's there, will he protect her or send her back out into the big bad world that she chose over him?

Gritty, intense, and passion that will ignite the pages, these are just some of the elements you can expect from a Megan Crane novel. Ms Crane has been on my ‘Must Read’ list since the first book in the Edge series was released, so naturally I was extremely excited to discover her brand new MC series. There was never any doubt in my mind that this new venture would encompass the same compelling and easy flowing writing style I have come to associate with this talented author. Devils’ Honor is definitely not a fluffy, hearts on sleeve type of romance, and rightly so. MC stories for this reader should be raw and edgy, with requisite strong language, sexual interaction and matter of fact dialogue. The characters have strong personalities and a soul deep connection that explains their ongoing emotional tug-of-war, while the world building and general storyline leave no doubt this series will provide plenty of action, danger and complex relationships as it grows and evolves. I thoroughly enjoyed this first story in the series and look forward to more exciting tales of the men and women from the bayou who face countless obstacles, and moral dilemmas through their association with outlaws of the Devil’s Keepers MC.

Devil's Honor is a "bad boy, good girl" romance about two people getting a second chance at love. I will say that the characters in the book are kind of messed up and contradictory in their behavior. At times, the main characters seem to be as repelled by each other as they are attracted. Greeley (hero) is borderline abusive and seriously pushy. Merritt (heroine) is either being a doormat or acting out in ways that just seem childish and more adolescent than "strong woman getting her groove back," which is what she seems to be attempting to do in her own disfunctional way. By the end of the book I did buy the relationship between Greeley and Merritt and I did understand their motivations in the way they acted through out their relationship. More importantly, I enjoyed reading this book from start to finish. I received an ARC for my honest review.

Devil’s Honor is the first book in a new series The Devil’s Keepers by Megan Crane. The Devil’s Keepers are a motorcycle club that rules the town of Lagrange in the outback country of Louisiana. Surrounded by swamps and bayous, you are introduced to the members of this club and their code. Merritt Broussard was the doctor’s daughter who left town to follow the dreams instilled in her by her father from an early age. One summer between college and law school, she had a summer fling with a bad-boy biker, leaving scorching memories to help her survive her lonely future. Five years later and she’s back in Lagrange, with trouble following her, still attracted to that hard, dangerous man. Joseph “Greeley” Shaw found the Devil’s Keepers after his enlistment overseas was completed and never looked back. Greeley was determined to live and die by their code and no one came between him and his brothers; at least not until he meets Merritt, who touched his soul. Greeley resolved to honor his commitments. That includes keeping Merritt safe. This was an intense, entertaining story with well written, complex and authentic characters. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. Ms Crane takes the reader deep into the bayou country where one could feel the heat and humidity that surrounded the swamps as they read this hot and sexy story. Her characters are real, do not apologize for their behavior and are led by their animal instincts. I highly recommend this book to other readers, especially those looking for a hot and dirty read in the motorcycle genre. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book. Merritt has come home and is hiding from her life in New York which includes a psychotic boyfriend who will not let her go. She left home 5 years ago and when she left Greeley made it clear if she returned she would not get away a second time. Greeley is the SA for the Devil's Keepers MC and he is rough, crude, sexy, badass, and all around H-O-T. He has everyone's back and now that Merritt is home he has her back in his life and his bed and he will protect what is his. I am looking forward to getting to know more of the MC members. There is an underlying story here that can only get better as this series progresses. **Received a copy of this from the publisher via NetGalley

I love biker stories and this is one of my favorites. You have it, a crazy ex, second chances, and a woman who finally realizes where home is. Merritt lived in Lagrange her whole life. Her father was the town’s doctor, so he also took care of the club’s injuries when needed. He pushed Merritt to leave and become something better. So she goes to law school and gets a job in New York. But when her boyfriend/boss gets a little crazy, she goes back to Lagrange, after being gone for five years, to hide out. Greeley is the sergeant at arms for the Devil’s Keepers motorcycle club. Merritt is the only woman he ever said “I love you” to and she still left him. Greeley is older and wiser and swears he won’t make the same mistake twice. But he can’t stay away and the sex is just as hot as he remembered. Can he fight her demons and get her to stay or will he lose her again. Explicit sex scenes that will burn your ereader up. I read this in one day. Could not put it down! *RECEIVED FROM NETGALLEY*

A Great Start to a new series. I got this book through NetGalley in exchange for a review, which I am as always happy to provide, especially for a book that I enjoyed that much. I was not familiar with Megan Crane before I read this book, but she certainly got a new fan in me now. I loved the characters and the intense heat between Greeley and Merritt it made it hard to put the book down. There was a lot of inner dialog, to be honest almost a little bit too much, but you understood what made these two tick, there was not a lot of action, but you got a look behind the curtain of what it might entail to be in a MC and it felt realistically portrait. And of course some steamy love making. I can't wait for the next book in the series, I hope I won't have to wait to long. Great Beginning.

I enjoyed this one very much and I'm looking forward to meeting more of The Devil's Keepers. I'm not a huge fan of Merritt's and she and Greeley seem like an odd pair but I've met many couples that I don't really get but it works for them. I did love Greeley though. Rough and rugged biker badass to the core. He knows who and what he is and doesn't apologize for it. He wanted Merritt to stay 5 years ago but she left without looking back. Now she's returned and his desire for her hasn't changed but has she?? I would definitely recommend this one.
