during a zombie outbreak some people survive along the Appalachian trail where the terrain was too difficult for the zombies to claim them. a lone mountain man rescues a young girl from some zombies only to discover a military faction is in search of the girl because she survived a zombie bite. he must protect the girl, teach her the ways of the mountains and stay one step ahead of those who hunt her
