Overview

They’re serving up some red-hot revenge. A sizzling series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel van Dyken.

Blaire has never quite gotten over Jessie Beckett, the ex–NFL star whose kisses were hot enough to ignite the entire Eastern Seaboard. When he chose work over her, Blaire was left brokenhearted. Why else would she have married a skeezy two-timer, just to divorce him less than a year later?

Now Blaire is getting even by becoming one half of Dirty Exes, a PI firm fully committed to humiliating cheating jerks. If only the new jerk she’s been hired to uncover wasn’t Jessie Beckett himself.

Exposing Jessie isn’t going to be easy, especially when she still daydreams about his sexy smile. Further complicating matters is Colin, Jessie’s best friend. He’s gorgeous, a little bit cunning, and willing to help Blaire get the inside scoop on Jessie—for a price.

Now caught between two men—one totally right and the other totally wrong—Blaire will need to decide just how much she’s willing to risk…and whom she’s willing to risk it for.

Dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken is the first book in her latest series, Liars, Inc., . A spin-off set in the same world as her Wingmen, Inc., series, this is the story of two scorned women who have taken the dregs they were dealt in their past relationships and turned into a goldmine business that specializes in proving (or dis-proving) the infidelity of a loved one. The two creators Isla and Blaire are bombshell, take no crap women. Blaire has a new target. Find proof of his infidelity and/or see if he will cheat by being the "bait". Problem is, the target is her ex and the one who got away and she isn't ready to blur the line between her obligations for her client and her desires to possibly rekindle what they had before he was traded to another team. Oh, did I not mention, he is retired NFL star quarterback Jessie Beckett and ridiculously hot to boot. Using all the weapons in her arsenal she ends up relying on his best friend Colin to get her out of more than one sticky situation. If it wasn't for the creepy snake tattoo on Colin's arm he'd be even hotter than Jessie. Quirky, well-written, well-paced, angsty and emotional and sexy. Loved it - RVD is one of my must-read authors and this book did NOT disappoint. Enjoy!

Dirty Ex’s by Rachel Van Dyken a five-star read that will make you wonder. This is the first read in the Liars, inc. series and it kicks off with a bang. Blooming hell doesn’t it, how would you choose between the one that got away and his best friend, Blaire faces a quandary and I was spinning back and forth between the two for most of the story, I wanted one, then the other, then I just got greedy and wanted both. But without giving the game away I’m glad that she made the right decision in the end. Dirty Ex’s is a great idea and I would be happily signing up for those live videos!! This was comedic in places and serious in others and had just the right amount of both in great quantities t make this a great read. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the next instalment in the series Dangerous Ex’s.

Wasn't this a fun flirty pass the whiskey read. What a concept. Brilliant, really these two woman have been wronged once upon a time Blaire and Isla meet under the worst circumstances cheating men! Fast forward to the present they are now P.I.'s and catching those rotten cheaters. Now enter the job the one that includes Blaire ,Jessie , Colin oh and Vanessa. Should I mention that maybe some of these people have a past? What are the chances? OF all the Bars right? oh and that past yes he's the "one that got away". The best part was that it was unexpected what you think you know...good luck. I found myself laughing this was really enjoyable. I am really looking forward to the next one. So I’ve been sitting on this review for 2 weeks now because it was hard to decide how to write it in a way that I express everything about the story I want but don’t give any spoilers. In the end, I choose a way where I give away a tiny minor spoiler which leaves me a bigger room to maneuver. I love Rachel Van Dyken’s books, her writing style is so clean and crisp and she always infuses her stories with a certain crazy but if you think about it realistic humor, I simply love it. So as most of her books this one is also funny as hell, full of insane shenanigans from the protagonist, relatable characters, and a fast-paced romance. This was a quick and easy read for me. The book is narrated from 3 different POVs, Blaire’s, Jessie’s and Cole’s. The main character, Blaire can be familiar because she is the sister of Ian from The matchmaker’s playbook. I didn’t read that book so for me she was new. Personally, I couldn’t sympathize with her at first no matter how much I tried. I hurt for her when we learned she was cheated on but I just didn’t like how she let that event go without any kind of reaction and then became a practically harsh, bitter and vindictive about everybody relationships. She was a bit of a projector; she created a dream version of Jessie after a brief time and she compared everybody to this image and she also projected her bad experience with men onto everybody else. Other than this I loved her, she was crazy, funny, brave and sometimes even daring. Also, in the end, I loved the choices she made. Jessie was also hard to like for me and it was strange because he was a great human being in a tight spot. Still, for some reason, I didn’t like him as much. He was a poser, someone who gave more credit for how others perceive him than how he feels so the situation he ended it is not too surprising. Still, he was also lied to, pressured into things he didn’t want. I don’t know I just had a dual view of him and couldn’t decide which one is the real. There is a situation you can perceive as a love triangle in the book but it’s really not a love triangle just like in Fraternize, another book form the author. The romance side went along the same lines than in that book. I personally enjoyed it. This was a fun read and I’m really looking forward to the next in the series.

Revenge is best served hot and dirty. Dirty Exes is the start of something fabulous. Van Dyken takes her smokin' style to satire. Blaire knows how to heal a broken heart. Don't get mad. Get even. She makes her living exposing lies. What happens when the biggest lie is the one she's told herself? The keeper of secrets is about to be exposed and it could be the best thing that ever happened to her. The thrill of the chase is only half of the fun.

"Don't ever apologize for eye-fucking, it's rude." That quote right there is my new favorite. I laughed my ass off when I read it. I want a bumper sticker, a coffee mug, and a t-shirt, it's that awesome! I enjoyed the hell out of Dirty Exes. The dynamic duo, Blaire & Isla, started their PI firm to catch cheaters and help the jilted. Their fearless attempts to get the goods are creative and very successful. It doesn't hurt that they use Facebook Live to blast their evidence and embarrass the culprits, making them very popular on social media. Yes, as I'm sure you've already guessed, the owners are victims of dirty exes and feel it's their duty to help others that don't deserve the same treatment. They've had a 100% success rate so far and feel very proud of their record and their service. It's not until they've already accepted a new client and are stalking the accused that Blaire finds out that he's her first love, Jessie Beckett, the ex–NFL star. The one that got away, the one she's never gotten over. The one that she compares all others to and they come up short. Surely he's not guilty, right? But she has a duty to find out the truth, so let the stalking commence. I can't express how much fun I had reading this story. There were some awesome support characters that I loved and some others that made me wish for a voodoo doll and some pins. The witty banter was especially entertaining and the sweet love story had me swooning and reluctant to reach the end of the book. I'm thrilled that this is part of the Liars, Inc series and hope that means I will get to spend some more time with these incredible characters in future books. The line forms here...

If you are looking for a fun, romance that involves a love triangle or maybe even a quad ... then this is the book for you. I absolutely loved everything about Blaire's character and how she was such a fighter. We are introduced to Blaire after she finds her husband and best friend in a compromising position .... hence her new found business partnership in forming Dirty Exes .... Before Blaire met her husband, she had a short-lived fling with Jessie Beckett, one of the hottest NFL stars in the country. After a few weeks of their love affair, Jessie moves away leaving Blaire to think about what if .... Jump a few years forward and Jessie's wife comes to Blaire for evidence that Jessie is cheating on her ... Old feelings emerge, questions of doubt start popping out .... and well so much more. I found myself in hysterics at times reading this book .... then I found myself cheering ... and for whom ... don't ask. At first I was totally team Jessie then I jumped ship and starting cheering for team Colin ... and well it was a vicious circle. In the end I think that Blaire ended up with who she belonged with and loved the way it all happened. Rachel Van Dyken is an amazingly talented writer who has this ability to bring her readers right into the story line, feeling like it is happening right in front of their very eyes. I absolutely loved the characters, the story line, the romance, the humour .... it was such a great read. I will be definitely picking up more books by Rachel Van Dyken and since this is the first book in the Liars Inc series, I can't wait to read the next one .... I am hoping it is about Isla and her love story as she definitely deserves a second chance of love! Make sure you read and add Dirty Exes to your To-Be-Read Shelf! Must read!

Outwardly, a scorned PI dedicated to embarrassing cheaters might not sound like the best backdrop for a love triangle. But Rachel Van Dyken provides a fun, funny, sweet and sexy read while successfully launching the first in her Liars, Inc. series. When Jessie Beckett left Blaire to pursue his NFL career, she tried to move on but ended up marrying a cheating douche canoe she soon divorced and now firm, dedicated to catch and humiliate cheaters in the act, has been hired to investigate none other than Jessie. A difficult task given the fact that she never got over him. But his best friend Colin is willing to help, sort of. Mostly he’s been flirting with her from the moment they met while she was spying on Jessie in Colin’s hotel. She’s got sweet history with one and an incredible attraction with the other and now she has to decide. Rachel Van Dyken’s effervescence shines through in fun, sassy and witty dialogue which is nicely balanced with the swoony moments full of emotion. The story has many share-tastic bits yet the plot is also rife with twists and turns that, if shared, would zap all the enjoyment out of the read. I can mention though that the tale is told from various points of view and that Jessie, Colin and Blaire are charming characters that easily made me smile and laugh. It was an unputdownable book which I’ve read several times since it landed on my eReader. Dirty Exes is book #1 of the Liars Inc. series by Rachel Van Dyken. It is standalone contemporary romance told by several points of view with a happy ending.

I LOVED IT! This book was great, I laughed so much that I actually had tears in my eyes. The characters were hilarious and very relatable, the storyline was great and kept me intrigued throughout the whole book. Absolutely loved it - this was a solid FIVE STAR read for me and has been added to my list of Best Reads of 2018 - I highly recommend this to ANYONE! Dirty Exes is a spin-off of The Matchmaker's Playbook, as Blaire is the sister of Ian from the previous series. Although you DO NOT need to read that series in order to fully enjoy this series. Dirty Exes is a private investigation company that offers their services to clients, who are looking for proof that their spouse is cheating. The company is founded by Blaire and Isla, who formed a kinship through the shared heartbreak of cheating spouses. Dirty Exes starts off with Blaire and her best friend/business partner, Isla, being hired to investigate a socialites' husband to see if he's been cheating. Turns out, the husband is also an old flame of Blaires, the-one-who-got-away kind. Considering they have never been wrong about any of their cases in the past - Things start to get very interesting, very fast! Jesse Beckett is a retired quarterback who years ago played with Blaire's brother, Ian. (prior to Ian's knee injury) They spent three incredible weeks together before Jesse was traded to another team. He's the man who Blaire compares all men too, the one who got away. He is also the husband of the client that hired Dirty Exes to find out if he is cheating on her. Jesse comes across as a people pleaser, and as someone who worries way too much about other peoples feelings. I sympathized with him a lot throughout the book. He seemed to be always trying to do the right thing, which always turned out to be the wrong thing. While Blaire is trying to gather intel and - for a lack of better word - stalking Jesse, she literally stumbles into a hot bartender. Who also happens to be Jesse's best friend - Collin. Billionaire playboy Collin. The sexy bartender with the snake tattoo, that immediately captures Blaire's attention. The dialogue between him and Blaire had me laughing so hard it hurt! I absolutely LOVED him. I honestly would recommend this book to anyone, I really enjoyed this romantic comedy, and I truly believe anyone else would as well. The story has so much to offer a reader - angst, a storyline that keeps you guessing, comedy, swoon-worthy moments, hot steamy sex scenes, and such relatable characters. Add this baby to your TBR shelves, and pre-order for one of your summer reads. I'm looking forward to the rest of the books in this series.

***4.5 stars*** Dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken brings a whole new aspect to the romance world, I'm talking a game changer! Blair is fed up with those who are unfaithful, she's decided to bring them all down. With her fierce partner Isla by her side they are set and ready to make the cheaters pay! All you have to do is call Dirty Exes. Dirty Exes is the first book in the Liars, Inc. series. This novel is told in three point of views. First we have Blaire who Co-Owns Dirty Exes. Blair and her friend Isla founded Dirty Exes after they both, on the same night, caught their men cheating. That night they came up with a plan and an instant friendship was set in stone. No cheaters shall be left unexposed. I loved Blair and her quirkiness. Throughout this novel I only had one thought in my head, I wanted this woman to find the strong neverending type love, if there was ever a character who deserves it more than all, it would be Blaire. Next we have Jessie. He's an ex-NFL player and suspect to be a potential cheater. When Dirty Exes get a call from a hollywood socialite who suspects her husband is being unfaithful, Blaire and Isla agree to accept the mission. However, When digging for information on said culprit, Blaire runs into a snag. The man in question is none other than her former flame and 'the who one who got away'. Conflict of Interest...? I think so. Last point of view is Mr. Billionaire himself Colin! Colin is the best friend of former NFL player Jessie. He's also the brother to Jessie's wife Vanessa... He has the perfect bad boy image with the playboy attitude to match. When Colin catches Blair in the middle of her spy session, her feels an instant connection with her. But that connection may only be one sided after he learns his best friend has already called dibs... a long time ago. Dirty Exes was so much fun to read! I loved the concept of this whole novel. The characters where written well with the type of chemistry that is undeniable. Lets not forget, All the amazing DRAMA! I couldn't get enough! Throughout the novel, there was a thought constantly going on in my head... Who is Blair going to end up with? I loved the fact that I had no clue who she was going to end up with until the very moment it happened! I loved the element of surprise, and the fact that she chose my favorite guy was a happy bonus! I cannot wait to see what Rachel Van Dyken has up her sleeve next!

I’ve got to say, I loved the synopsis for this book, it sounded great, that, and the fact that I love everything Rachel Van Dyken made the choice to read this book a no brainier. That said, it did take me a few chapters to get into the story and the characters, it took me a while to warm up to the vengeful ‘ex’ scenario (maybe it was the Facebook live which I found a little bit cruel). Once Jessie came into the picture however, things really started to take pace for me, add in Colin and I was in book boyfriend heaven. I’ve got to say though, I was rooting for the wrong guy early on, I loved the slight curveball in the story there Ms Dyken. Fantastic characters, lots of humour, and of course lots of sexy time. Told in multiple POV, which totally worked, making the story even more intriguing. Even though I didn’t always agree with the way Blaire went about business, and how she extracted information, I could totally relate to her. I loved it, I can’t wait to see what book 2 brings to the table. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This was a fun read with some angst and a bit of drama. It’s got the love triangle feel to it which I’m not a fan of, thus some of the angst on my part. However, I’ve read other love triangles by this author and they are pretty easy to work through unless you like a really deep, deep love triangle. I actually loved the way this one worked itself out. This has the typical Van Dyken humor which was perfect and characters that I fell in love with and curious to see what’s going to happen next with them. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I completely loved dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken. Recently divorced Blaire and her friend Isla have a PI company, exposing cheaters live on Facebook. When a new client approaches Blaire to investigate her cheating husband the man just happens to be a blast from Blaire’s past an ex named Jessie. Never in Blaire’s wildest dreams did she think she would come face to face again with the start football player who broke her heart. It’s While trailing Jessie, Blaire almost blows her cover thank god for the hot tattooed bartender Colin who helps her cover...too bad he’s Jessie’s best friend and a total flirt. Torn between Jessie and Colin who will Blaire choose? Dirty Exes is a fun and entertaining read, that you will not be able to put down. Lovable characters, and an excellent story line that brings on all the feels. I cannot wait for more from these amazing characters!

Dirty Exes is the feel good vindication everyone needs. It doesn't matter if you've been cheated on or not! Sticking it to the bad guy is fun! Unless he isn't the bad guy... No matter what these women get their...perp. Criminal. Philanderer. Douchebag. I love the premise because it's fun. I loved the story because....it's fun. But I loved the tie into other books via certain characters more! I love the connections. I love the reminders of stories not yet finished or past situations. It causes an extra bond to the book and story. So of course of was a squealing preteen when I realized who Colin was- I was slowest forming that link. Dirty Exes is the fun and flirty book you need now! And it's even better because I saw a book two is pending (wiggles eyebrows)!!

This was a great and light, but definitely steamy romance read. I enjoyed this book a lot and had a few laughs along the way. I definitely enjoyed Blaire, Isla, Colin, Jessie and Ian's characters. I wished Ian had more of a role in this book because I enjoyed the conversations between him and Blaire. I felt their brother and sister bond. I disliked Vanessa, Jason and Olivia from the very beginning but those three got what they deserved in the end. Blaire and Jessie had spent time together in the past, but I was glad that she chose to be with the one person I wanted her with. I was definitely rooting for them because the chemistry, attraction and banter between them was everything and I felt their connection and it was everything. Jessie was a nice character and let Vanessa get away with entirely too much; being nice to someone is not always the best thing and he learned the hard way. I absolutely loved Isla, she was a trip and I hope she gets her story with who I thought was a good fit for her. This was a great read that will leave you with a smile on your face and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

5 Fun Filled Stars Review by Lisa Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog My first thought when I was done reading this is I WANT MORE and I am excited to see that Dirty Exes is the first in the Liars, Inc. series by Rachel Van Dyken, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author. Then realizing that the main character, Blaire is a spin-off from The Matchmaker's Playbook. DEAD ON FLOOR !!!!! Just confirms why I love Rachel Van Dyken's books. And this book is just as great as the rest of them. From page one I was hooked and went to work tired the next day. As the beginning of the story is a little slow, giving you that build up but suddenly you realized your almost done and then its over. You are left wanting more!! And thank God there will be more. As this is a love triangle to say, which I cringe at, I still love this book. It is so well written and done perfectly. The story line just flows and at times makes you want to yell "what are you doing!!" or "don't think that". OMG the humor and just little things that happen through the story are priceless and anyone can relate to in life. Perfect combo to balance out this story. Without giving away the story, Blaire had been cheated on by her ex. With her best friend they start a company called Dirty Exes. A PI company that helps brings cheaters to light in a big way. But when the wife of the one and only Jessie (the guy who got away) asks for their help, things get a little personal and lines become a little blurry. But Jessie isn't Blaire's only problem, Jessie's best friend Colin, wants in on the game and is willing to help Blaire... for a price. The game of spy is on, but who is spying who, who will end up with who and who is next?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Dirty Exes is one sexy and sweet romance. Blaire hasn’t had that much luck in love. It’s pretty much unfortunate. But then someone comes back into her life, that she never expected. But that is not where the story will go.. But I’m not going to say what happens. So you’ll just have to read the book. Dirty Exes is really enjoyable. It has the romance, it has its funny moments and the oh so sexy ones. Which, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Rachel. I’ve always enjoyed her stories, just the way she’s able to write these characters and being able to connect with them, on a personal level. Overall, I give this Four Boundless Stars.

Blaire and her friends formed their private investigating firm Dirty Exes with the intent of catching cheaters in the act, and helping the significant others who hired them exact their revenge. The ladies know a thing or two about cheating, having been on the bad side of it themselves and they know the hurt and humiliation that is associated with it, so if they can offer their clients any solace with their work they are willing to do all they can to make that happen. Even if it means spying on a man that they once dated themselves... as soon as Blaire learns that her newest client is none other than Jesse Beckett, the man who broke her heart years ago, she has her reservations about getting involved. He may have broke her heart, but he was a good man, and she can't imagine him doing the things his wife is excusing him of, or could he? When she sets out to get her spying on, she winds up meeting Colin, a friend of Jesse's, who promises her that Jesse is the golden boy she has always known him to be, but after seeing a few questionable things Blaire has her doubts. So, Colin offers to help her out, as long as she agrees to a date... now she must decide just how much she is willing to risk to get her information!! Dirty Exes is a humorous, steamy and heartfelt page-turner that is sure to win the hearts of romance readers, and leave them harboring a serious crush... Colin and Jesse were downright irresistible!! As soon as I read the synopsis for this one I was in, with the mention of two men vying for one woman's heart, I knew that would lead to an story line filled with heart squeezing angst, some swooning inspired by two alpha's going head to head with their claim-staking, and a lot of toe curling smooth talking meant to sway her decision... and boy was I right! I thoroughly enjoyed this one, the story line kept me engaged the whole way through, and the characters left me excited about return visits... can't wait to see what is in store for them next!! I requested an advanced copy of this title and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

4 stars-lighthearted, enjoyable, playful DIRTY EXES is the first instalment in Rachel Van Dyken’s contemporary, adult LIARS, INC romance series- a spin off from the author’s WINGMEN, Inc series. This is PI Blaire Hunter, former NFL star Jessie Beckett, and wealthy hotel owner Colin Buchanon’s story line. Blaire is the sister of Ian Hunter (The Matchmaker’s Playbook). Told from three, first person points of view (Blaire, Colin and Jessie) DIRTY EXES follows self-appointed PI Blaire Hunter, along with her business partner Isla, as they are tasked with uncovering cheating husbands and wives. Blaire knows the heartbreak of rejection, and the humiliation of finding your husband in bed with another woman. Commiserating together about their unfortunate choices in life, Blaire and Isla formed ‘Dirty Exes’ in an effort to expose liars and cheats. Their latest assignment brings Blaire face to face with the man who broke her heart years earlier, former NFL star Jessie Becket, whose wife has hired Dirty Exes in an effort to unmask the truth. Enter billionaire hotel owner Colin, Jessie’s best friend and ‘second’, and the man with whom Blaire will fall in love. What ensues is the search for the truth, as Blaire goes undercover to take down the man she has fantasized about for close to fifteen years, as his best friend fantasizes about the woman who has stolen his heart. DIRTY EXES is a fun, flirty and sexy story line. The one on one, back and forth banter between Blaire and Colin is priceless. From the outset, Colin is a man determined to seduce our story line heroine, and in this, we are unsure as to his intent knowing his best friend Jessie still has feelings for the woman with whom Colin will fall in love. DIRTY EXES is not a love triangle romance, in fact, Blaire keeps her distance from Jessie, as she is tasked with uncovering the truth about the man she once thought she loved. Appearances can be deceiving; Jessie’s wife Vanessa is a piece of work, and her ‘love’ for her husband runs only skin deep. The relationship between Colin and Blaire begins accidentally. Blaire is a bit of a klutz, and constantly finds herself in embarrassing situations including cowering on the floor, and locking herself in a superstar’s food pantry. Colin’s slow seduction of Blaire is rife with humorous sexual innuendo, fun texting, and the honest truth. The $ex scenes are intimate, seductive and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. The world building follows the start-up and ongoing business between two friends whose lives were destroyed on the same night, years before. Betrayal is ugly; revenge is sweet. The premise is spirited and lively; the characters are colorful, fun, and sweet; the romance is exquisite and captivating. DIRTY EXES is a light hearted, enjoyable and playful story line.

I will start out by saying I loved everything about this book. A book that made me laugh out loud at the ridiculous situations that Blaire got herself into along with her quirky friends. After Blaire runs into "The one who got away" randomly she faves the fact that her feelings for Jessie never truly went away....then she meets his best friend Colin. She ends up really liking him too. Now she needs to choose who is the best one for her. Another great book by RVD that left me wanting more. *I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book *

Dirty Exes was such a fun and unexpected read. I mean, I just loved the heck out of this book. From laugh out loud moments to crazy antics to a swoon worthy romance that just knocks you off your feet, this book is easily one of my favorite books that I’ve read so far this year. Dirty Exes is smartly written and will suck you in from the very first page. The plot is fun and entertaining. The characters will captivate you and suck you in to their stories. I fell in love with Blaire from the moment I met her. Life had dealt her some pretty craptastic cards when it came to love, and she wasn’t in the market at all. She loved catching cheaters and serving their spouses or significant others justice and the closure they need. Closure…that is the one thing Blaire never got. She has a lot of what if’s in her life and it looks like fate is about to drop into her life and turn it totally upside down…. Dirty Exes took me on one heck of a ride. It wasn’t anything like I expected. It knocked my socks off and had me laughing in stitches. I couldn’t get enough of this story and the characters. It was the perfect book to spend my afternoon getting lost in. This book had it all: smart writing, witty banter, fun characters, light angst, just the right amount of drama, and some seriously sweet moments. I may have found myself swooning over a particular character a time or two, but I’m not going to tell you which one. You’re just going to have to pick up this read for yourself and see which character won over my heart….. A truly fantastic read. I can’t wait to read more from this series!

My Thoughts One of my all time favorite movies The First Wives Club is the first example of Exes getting even with their cheating, conniving, lying husbands and it tops this story for revenge. That being said author Rachel Van Dyken took a romance story and made it unique and noteworthy for readers who enjoy characters that are not only vulnerable but also snarky and easy to relate to for most of us, happily married or not. My biggest complaint was the fact after all those years apart Blaire found herself still unable to let go of her past with Jessie and instead embrace a chance for true happiness with a man who not only is super sexy but is also totally tuned into her. However in the end everything worked out for the best and set up readers for the next book which should be an even more interesting setup than this first in the series and I hope to get a chance to find out when and if it comes available for review. Not one I loved but sure liked it a lot. [EArc from Netgalley]

"Hell hath no fury, like a woman scorned..." That quote is really quite fitting for this novel. Dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken was a quick, fun, and sexy read. A story of two best friends who form Dirty Exes, Inc. a business that uncovers the cheaters of the world! Blaire hasn't had the best of luck in the romance department. First, "the one that got away" chooses his career over her. Then, when she thinks she's found love once again, her husband cheats on her with her quote best friend unquote . You can say that Blaire is a bit jaded now. But life has other plans for her. Jessie Beckett is an ex-NFL player and he literally runs into the girl he let get away. With Jessie in an unhappy marriage, he has baggage of his own and seeing Blaire again has brought life back into his soul. ...But things soon get a bit tangled. Blaire never thought she would be investigating her former flame and to top it all off in comes Colin, Jessie's best friend, and the guy who ends up helping her . You can imagine where this is going. A love triangle of sorts is formed, but don't be fooled. There will be one man standing at the end. Dirty Exes was entertaining and had me laughing from page one! Though I found myself a bit annoyed with the mixed emotions, they were understandable and I was happy with the outcome at the end. This was my third book by Rachel and I cannot wait to continue to read more of her stories!

Blair and her best friend, Isla have a formed a company called Dirty Exes to catch cheaters in the act. Both have been burned in the past and felt the need to help others in similar situations. What turns a satisfying job meant to help others into one comical mess after another is when their next client is the wife of Blair's ex-boyfriend. Rachel Van Dyken brought us another fun and entertaining read! This story was a riot! I loved every shenanigan Blair got her self into. Colin completely stole the show for me. He was a total player but so charming that I didn't even care. Jesse was a hot mess and I wanted him to grow some kahunas. Isla was just as entertaining as Blair. Vanessa, oh Vanessa. For the evil villian of the story she sure did a great job. I wanted to punch her. I'm really looking forward to Isla's book next. I can already tell it will be just as entertaining. **I read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review** Oh how I love Rachel Van Dyken and her books! They suck you in right from the get-go and Dirty Exes was certainly no different! Dirty Exes brings us a familiar face as the heroine, Blaire, is the sister of Ian Hunter from The Matchmaker's Playbook. After being cheated on by her husband and her best friend, Blaire has made it her life's work to expose other cheaters and bring justice to those who have been cheated on. When the latest case that she and her business partner Isla take on brings her face to face with the man she always thought of as "the one that got away," she knows this case is going to be unlike any other she's ever had to work. Seeing Jessie Beckett again has brought back a wave of emotions for her. As she gets further into the case, Blaire meets Jessie's best friend, Colin, and it's clear that even though his loyalty should be to Jessie, he's more than willing to help Blaire with spying on his long time friend. To complicate matters, Blaire finds herself not only still attracted to Jessie, but she's attracted to Colin as well. In the end is it going to be the man that left her so many years ago or the man who has stepped up to help her now that will end up running away with her heart? This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. While I was hoping Blaire was going to choose one guy, there were times when I was certain she might choose the other one. This is a testament to Van Dyken's writing to be able to craft a story where you truly feel the suspense and you just have to keep reading to figure out how it all ends! I'm excited to see what lies ahead for this series. I'm hoping that the crumbs that were left at the end of this book are an indication of what we might get in the next one. If that's the case, I'm very excited about that prospect. I highly recommend picking up this title!
