About the Author

Martyn Rhys Vaughan was born in the World Heritage steel town of Blaenavon which nestles among the green hills of the south Wales valleys.
From a very early age he was interested in how the Universe works and what it contains. He listened to early space travel adventures on the radio, such as Journey Into Space and devoured the few American magazines of unusual and unlikely adventures which happened to come his way. Early examples were the Classics Illustrated versions of H G Wells’ The Time Machine and The War Of The Worlds. He soon developed an undying interest in “speculative fiction” and began to write fiction for his own consumption at an early age.
His career took in a wide variety of roles including working in the Agricultural sector and in various laboratories in the worlds of heavy industry and organic chemicals. His longest period of employment was working as a statistician in the Government Statistical Office, concentrating mainly in Balance of Payments issues.
Throughout his time he has remained a passionate advocate for the value of rationality and science in human affairs, one which he sees as of paramount importance in the increasingly turbulent times in which we live.
His works to date are all in the realm of speculative fiction and have received critical acclaim amongst those who love stories which probe the bounds of possibility.
