About the Author

Chief Wiederhold served 30 years in the Fire Service in Florida as a Paramedic, Firefighter, certified Wildland Firefighter, and District Chief. He also taught at several Florida Community Colleges and at the University of Central Florida. The Chief continued his education with a Bachelor's degree from Florida State University, a Master of Public Administration degree from University of Central Florida, the Executive Fire Officer certificate from the National Fire Academy and a commercial pilot rating. Chief Wiederhold is a native Floridian who feels fortunate to have had excellent students who challenged him and their own profession to be the best and most professional paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters. The Chief is currently a member of Florida Disaster Medical Assistance Team 6 and activated with the team for post—Katrina service in New Orleans.
