Readers interested in smart women who work at both traditional work and interesting careers will enjoy the exploits of Georgiana a plumber's apprentice working in a small town.Georgiana has a Mother going a sharp over meddling but successful woman. Sue her friend who runs a shop for dogie baths and spas, Paula another of gal pal is the Library Lady after the first librarian left the scene. Each character contributes sufficiently to make them necessary in the plotting and the action these women get into. There are really well created dilemmas and mysteries to solve. Christy Evans does a great job of keeping the narrative moving. No lingering over phrases as one might do with P D James mysteries and writers for another era where language lingered on our tongues when we read their works. Today's world requires writers who create relationships among the characters found in the world they create. After reading Drip Dead wjoh was the 3rd Christy Evans book. As writeres provide recipies for making coffee, pastery the process of, antiques Ms Neverall provides her readers with

Plumber's apprentice Georgiana "Georgie" Neverall doesn't like her mother's fiancé, Gregory Whitlock, but she doesn't wish he was dead. But dead he is - stuffed under Georgie's mother's house. Before she even has time to mourn, Sandra Neverall finds herself the chief suspect in the murder. Georgie and her mother may not always get along but the last thing Georgie wants is her mother jailed for a murder she didn't commit. Georgie works to clear her mother's name but will her sleuthing put her in real danger?"Drip Dead" is the very good third book in Christy Evans series featuring plumbers apprentice Georgiana Neverall. This is the first book I've read in the series but I never felt lost while reading it. What makes this book so good is the relationship between Georgiana and her mother. They love each other but need their own space (some of the best parts in this book are when Georgie's mother moves in with her - many adult daughters (and mothers) will empathize with their complicated relationship). Sandra Neverall is a strong opinionated character who doesn't like showing weakness. Georgie is building a new life as a plumber (the book has plumbing tips scattered throughout) after a successful yet ultimately devastating career in the computer world. Another interesting relationship is between Georgie and her friend Sue who happens to be dating the sheriff (how refreshing it is for once that the heroine is not dating the police chief which is so common in cozy mysteries). Georgie's clashes with the police chief often interfere with her friendship with Sue. While the relationships are nicely done, the mystery is also well done - it is well plotted with several twists and turns. While I thought I knew who the killer was, Evans threw in a plot twist that caught me off guard. Well done.

"Ahhhhhh!!!!" Screamed Rarity a black crystals sprouted from the ground. Spike muffled crys for help were silenced, for he had been completely engulfed. Rarity realized he couldt be saved as an icy wind formed ice around the black crystals, making it even more impossible for Spike to escape. She ran as fast as she could to Ponyville. She had to tell her friends. But it might already be too late. Rarity didnt even care if it was. She had to save him. Frost formed in her mane. Soon it was covering her, making it harder to run. Soon there was so much snow it was nearly impossible for her to see. Suddenly a crystal sprouted in front of her. Tripping over it, she cut her leg. Falling to the ground, Raritys eyes filled with tears. They froze on her cheeks. After many failed attempts to get up, she saw her own blood, red and frozen beneath her. Her heart pounded. Finally she closed her eyes, thinking it was all over, that all hope was lost. Spike had saved her life, but she couldnt save his. That was her only thought as she closed her eyes. She couldnt save him...

Georgiana Neverall Mystery Series 3rd Book In The Series A Berkley Prime Crime Mystery A Division of Penguin Publishing Release Date: February 1, 2011 ISBN-10: 0425239896 ISBN-13: 978-0425239896 Georgiana works as a plumber's apprentice as she studies to take the test to earn her plumber's license. Her mother is marrying real estate mogul Gregory Whitlock and he is building a brand new house for he and his bride. Georgiana's mother has offered to sell her house to her daughter but before that can happen it needs to pass inspection. Georgie knows she can handle the plumbing part of the inspection herself which involves crawling under the house to check the pipes. Imagine her surprise when she is discovers she is not the only body underneath the house. Big problem, the other body is dead and it is her mother's fiancée Gregory Whitlock. Of course the first person suspected of the killing is Georgie's mom and Georgie will be crawling in to more deep dark spaces to try to save her mother from drowning in a bunch of circumstantial evidence to bring the real killer to justice. She also has to keep herself out of hot water so she doesn't end up as another dead body. Is this the end of the Georgiana Neverall Series? It seemed like it. I loved the first two books in this series so maybe my expectations were set too high. This story just seemed to predictable to me. It was like a cozy mystery light, light on the mystery, light on humor and romance, light on the plot. I hope this is not the end of the series because I know this author can write a good mystery. I love cozy mysteries so it is really hard to write a review for a book that just didn't excite me. I look forward to more offerings by Christy Evans and hope this one was just a fluke that didn't rise to the high bar she set for herself in the first two books in this series. In Pine Ridge, Oregon apprentice plumber Georgiana Neverall of Hickey & Hickey Plumbing is about to buy her mom Sandra's house as her mother moves in with her fiancé. She knows the pipes in the kitchen are galvanized steel, which rusts from the inside out over thirty years so leaks should be the norm. Thus, reluctantly Georgie crawls under the house to inspect the plumbing though she loathes that part of a plumber's job. Instead of drips, she finds the corpse of her mom's fiancé realtor Gregory Whitlock. Pine Ridge Sheriff Fred Mitchell arrives along with two blue suited paramedics. Soon afterward Fred arrests Sandra. Georgie knows her mom is only guilty of planning to marry "Mr. Too Smooth" and being a lifetime pain in the butt so like a loyal daughter she decides to investigate over the protests of her maybe boyfriend Councilman Wade Montgomery and her BFF Fred's girlfriend Sue Gibbons. With Wade and Sue having her back, she begins digging into the cesspool business practices of the deceased as only a former computer security guru as she was could do. As she unravels Smooth's shaky money scheme, a murderer pursues her while in between her investigation she studies for the plumbing license exam. Drip Dead is an engaging amateur sleuth mystery as Georgie makes inquires into the deceased's realty business. The spirited wrench turner obviously needs no sleep as balances her mother's fears, a nasty investigation into financial crap and the test. Readers will enjoy Georgie who pulls out much more than just a plumb and her two hesitant teammates as they work a nasty Lead Pipe Cinch case while trying not to fall into a deadly Sink Trap.
