Now this one of the few Homo Erotic reads that I have read (and I read a lot) that has come to the very core of a gay relationship. It covers some sensitive topics where Evan is concerned and Matt faces a bit of an identity crisis. However the book mainly focus' on Evan and his hang-ups which, in this case, I feel to be completely appropriate. They're first time going "all the way" was intense and beautiful albeit a little short. Plus it also was nice to hear from Jim and Griffin from Love and Loyalty. I was pleasantly surprised when a whole chapter and a chunk or two from later chapters had them as well. I whole heartedly surprised by theses three books by Tere (Faith and Fidelity, Love and Loyalty, and finally Duty and Devotion). I highly recommend all three of these beautiful Gay Romances. Your collection would not be complete without them. But enough of my rambling. Let the books speak for themselves.

I absolutely adore this couple and love reading about them. They could just be sitting with beers and talking and I would still be entranced by them. They are just so sweet on each other and even though they don’t see eye-to-eye on certain situations, neither of them are afraid to voice their feelings to one another. Michaels writes it so that their relationship seems very much based on trust. I love the devotion that Matt and Evan have for one another. However, that devotion is tested in this installment of the series when an ex lover, Jim Shea is brought back into the mix. If you’ve read LOVE & LOYALTY then you know who Jim is already and would be familiar with Griffin as well. I love these two, but probably not as much as Matt and Evan. I loved the way Tere Michaels was able to integrate these two couples together in a way that didn’t seem too forced. The conflict felt genuine and it was nice to see the bonds of Matt and Evan’s relationship tested. Michaels does this in a subtle way where it isn’t too dramatic, but enough to keep readers interested. Added to that is the sex that Matt and Evan desperately want but don’t know how to approach. They tip toe around this for awhile until it’s clear that they need to take a leap of faith and simply trust each other. And boy was I happy when they did! For anyone who is interested in trying out M/M but doesn’t know where to start, I definitely think this series is a nice preview into the world of M/M. Though not heavily sexed up, it does show that romance and love can happen to anyone, not simply hetero couples.
