If you want a good look at the hippy philosophy here it is. Plus some classic martial arts scenes. "I'm Going to put this foot on that side of your face and there is nothing you can do about it". This is the indi film that rocked the world.

This is a great film from 1971, and finally has been relased on crystal clear blu-ay disc! The film has never looked better on home video!

This movie is a hoot. The production values are not what we are used to... and the pace of the movie is not as frenetic as we are accumstomed to either... but the SAPPY, LIBERAL sentimentalism redeems every flaw. The movie draws in people who love violence-- you get to see brawls and rape and other forms of humiliation--but the film wastes little time in preaching the values of tolerance and non-violence. My favorite part is when Billy Jack murders a law enforcement officer at the end and is treated like a hero. Apparently it is not self-contradictory to liberal ideals of compassion and tolerance to murder people who really deserve it. Which is why I love this movie. We are all a bundle of contradictions and Billy Jack mirrors the non sequiter of our lives back to us... We are all tragic figures.
