Sometimes Disney screws up classic movie/books. This wasn't the case in A Christmas Carol. The animation was astounding and looked life like. If you are thinking of giving a movie as a Christmas present, this is the movie to get. There are some elements of the movie that could be scary for younger children, especially when the ghost of Christmas future comes into the story. Overrall, It was amazing!

This is my favorite Christmas Carol movie. Jim Carey does such a great job with all the different accents and characters.  Please be forewarned.... it is not a film to watch with your young kids. It has intense scenes that can be scary for them. This is a Christmas movie that adults will enjoy.  I was grateful to have something in the midst of all the sugary, squeaky child-like movies that you get during the holidays (I love those too) but the graphics in this movies is  something you can appreciate and enjoy. I think all the negative reviews were from people who thought they could watch this with their kids (understandable) and that it would be a tra-la-la version like most other disney films.I loved this movie and look forward to watching it every year.

The dvd jacket describes this production as a heartwarming adventure for the whole family. I found it nightmarish. The digitally-created characters were so visually ugly and repulsive that I was regretting my purchase five minutes into the film, and watching for the duration assured me that they got no prettier as time went by. I expected some fearful qualities in the ghost of Christmas yet to come, but the other two ghosts were just as frightening. A dark and ugly production. If I could score it lower than a one star, I would do so.

This was the WORST version of A Christmas Carol which I have ever seen! With great anticipation of sharing the wonderful story which I've known since childhood with my own daughter, we watched it together and I was SO DISAPPOINTED! The beautiful story was lost in the midst of 3D antics and effects! I love the Charles Dickens story, but did not like this version at all.
