This is my second favorite movie adaptation of Little Women. My #1 favorite is the 1949 version with June Allyson, Janet Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor and Margaret O'Brien but this 1933 version is good too and Katharine Hepburn was very good as Jo and the rest of the cast is good too!

I was disappointed in this filming of "Little Women". The story is timeless, but it was a bit overacted and melodramatic for my liking. I am a big fan of Katherine Hepburn's but not of Hepburn in this role. Though in many respects her portrayal of Jo was right on, I couldn't get beyond all the souped up drama to appreciate Jo, the other March sisters, or many of the other characters to enjoy the story itself.
