One year after the film noir spoof Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, Carl Reiner and Steve Martin set their sights on science fiction in The Man with Two Brains. In the film, a surgeon (Martin) falls in love with the disembodied brain of a patient (voice by Sissy Spacek) and learns that a scientist he knows has perfected the process of brain transfer. The doctor, trying to realizing his dreams, attempts to transfer the brain into his unloved wife's body (Kathleen Turner).
