About the Author

Dr Albert P. Rowe, Pastor Emeritus, Calvary Baptist Church, is a community and civil rights activitist. He served as pastor of Calvary for forty-five years. He participated in the March on Selma, the March on Washington and was an official observer for the election of Nelson Mandella. He led his congregation in two building fund campains in constructing a new church sanctuary and a family life center to house day care, mentoring for youth, after school programs, and summer day camp. His church recruited, trained and supported foster parents and was responsible for more than 50 adoptions.
