Earth's Hope by Ann Gimpel

Power so old, deep, and chilling it hurts to think about it will overrun Earth if nothing changes. Targeted, furious, and fighting back, Aislinn runs wide open, gathering allies and putting her life on the line.

Aislinn Lenear has traveled a long road since the dark gods invaded Earth better than three years ago. After seeing her father slaughtered in front of her, and her mother sink into madness, Aislinn built strong walls around her heart. First her bond wolf, and then Fionn MacCumhaill, changed all that, but she and Fionn are far from home free.

Four of the six dark gods are still sowing destruction, and they've joined forces with Lemurians, a desperate lot, running just ahead of the tide of their own mortality. In a bold move, they try to coopt a group of young dragons, and very nearly succeed. Dewi, the Celtic dragon god, and Nidhogg, the Norse dragon god, banish their brood to the dragons' home world, but they refuse to stay put.

In a fast-paced, tension-riddled closure to this dystopian, urban fantasy series, Earth's Hope sweeps from Ireland to the Greek Islands to the Pacific Northwest to borderworlds where the dark gods live. Fionn's and Aislinn's relationship is strained to the breaking point as they struggle to work together without tearing one another to bits. Fionn is used to being obeyed without question, but Aislinn won't dance to his tune. If they can find their way, there may be hope for a ravaged Earth.

4.5 Stars! “Maybe there is some hope…” The final chapter in the Earth Reclaimed trilogy. Reading this was like visiting with old friends — albeit magical, very long-lived ones. Earth’s Hope picks right up where book 2 left off, and I was immediately immersed back in the post-apocalyptic world of Celtic gods, dragons, gods from several other pantheons, harpies, and humans with magic as they battle the dark ones "demon gods" and the alien Lemurians for the Earth. The story was engrossing, and I was pulled right back into the overall series story. While it is possible to read this as a standalone, I don't recommend it. You won't have the same rich experience as when reading it in order. Ann continues to add to dragon lore with her incredible dragons. The Earth Reclaimed characters are vibrant and amusing. I will miss them. Aislinn is a feisty heroine who is hard pressed to stay in the action much to the dismay of her lover Fionn, a Celtic god. More oft than not, she is saving his immortal butt. It was with a sad smile that I found myself reading the last pages. With Gimpel, you won’t get the “same ole, same ole” tired paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and fantasy tales. With this author's penchant for gravely injuring characters, and sometimes killing them off, you never know what to expect other than a good story. Ann Gimpel is on my “must read” author list.

We…are Earth’s Hope.    You acted because you love me, and I can’t fault you for that!  I am at a loss to find a way to explain just how terrific this book is!  I have been waiting for months to read this book and to see how it would all end and now that it has…well, let’s just say it is one of the most magical and beautiful endings to a series that I have read in a long time!!  Even saying that I feel like I might be spoiling if for you but it is so hard to explain just how much I truly loved this series and NOT give away any spoilers!  I remember having thoughts, hopes (Help me Ann, you are my only hope! *snicker*), romantic notions even, in how I would want this book to go…but in typical Ann fashion, her version is way so much more fantastic then mine piddle thoughts ever were!  *insert beaming smile here*  I absolutely adore Fionn & Aislinn!  They are so perfect together, they complement each other’s magic, personalities and oh, their humor!  The humor is so perfectly sprinkled throughout the story and helps to lighten the mood and the story itself.  I love how hot Fionn & Aislinn are for each other, one touch, hell even one look and they go up in flames!  But it is based on a very deep love and trust of, with & for each other that just makes it that much more intense and magical.  I love how Ann knows just exactly how, when and how much of everything to add in to the story like the right amount of sex, the right amounts of humor and of each “type” – dry wit, LOL moments, sarcastic, etc. and then to blend it all together so perfectly that you can’t help but get addicted to her stories, love her characters, and HER!  It all helps to make the stories more real & I LOVE that about Ann!  Ann is such a gifted writer/author and this book and series are of the utmost proof!  When reading her books I feel like I am reading a narration of someone’s story, a REAL person’s story!  Her books are detailed without being overdone, there is always enough information given when you need it, but also hints at more or at what’s to come so that it keeps you reading long past your bedtime!  lol  I always feel like I am a part of those worlds that she creates.  They absolutely come alive and I happily escape into here as often as I can and stay as long as possible too!  Her characters also come alive with their personalities that are “real” and stay true to themselves throughout the series, let alone just one book, meaning that they are not altered to fit a scene or situation, and the “changed” back for the next scene, etc.  It is all very fluid I guess is the best way to sum it up.  All in all, Ann has written yet another terrific series, in fact this is now my absolute favorite one!  Which is saying a LOT since I have read quite a number of her books now!  ALL of her books are FANTASTIC!!! They are ALWAYS well written and entertaining AND she is able to do this with every “type” or genre of story she writes, over & over again!!!  In fact I love that you cannot class her books into one genre!  It all just adds to the pleasure & enjoyment of reading her books, and NEVER getting bored or being able to predict what is going to happen, making it pure bliss to read every one of Ann’s books over and over again!

Earth's Hope is the 3rd and final book in the Earth Reclaimed Series. It is perhaps the best book so far. Still fighting with everything they have to rid Earth of the Lemurians and the dark gods, Aislinn, Fionn and their bond animals stole my heart as they wove their way around the US searching for humans to joins their cause. Nidhogg and Dewi find themselves to be new parents of eight wonderful, mindful, ambitious little baby dragons eager to start in on the fight. Enter more Celts and Norse gods and you've got way too many cooks in the kitchen! The characters are so real, I feel as though I am right there fighting alongside them. This is definitely a must-read series!

Plenty of action, way too much sex and the plot is anything but subtle. I wish there had been more layers all round and I wish that the language had been more carefully crafted. All that being said our heroine is a perfect example of strength and bravery. If you like comic book action you should read this book.

It's not to be missed! Dewi is a dragon who is finally back with her mate the norse dragon Hidhogg but the first part of the story starts with them dealing with the loss of one of their younglings. The Dragons, celt gods, and humans are still fighting the dark gods and the lumurians who have all but distoryed the earth and it's life forms. The action in this is phenomenal, it's hot and spicy with a killer storyline. It's fantastic. A book that could easily become a movie or TV series! There is just to much to this story to put in a few lines you just got to read it. If your into magic, dragon, demons, celtic or norse this is your book it has it all. Don't miss it Book given for an honest review and I honestly loved it.

This is the third book and final book in the Earth Reclaimed series. It picks up right where Earth's Blood left off. You can read this book as a standalone, but I highly encourage you to read the first two books prior to reading this one. There is a LOT of sex and violence so definitely 18+. Aislinn, Fionn, their bond animals Rune and Bella, a few Celtic gods, the dragons, and humans continue the fight against the Lemurians and the Dark Ones. While they have had some victories, the battle for Earth is far from being over. Can they free the earth from the Lemurians and Dark Ones? I love how the author weaved not only Celtic gods and goddesses in the series, but how she added in Greek and Norse gods in as well. Not often do you see them working together on anything. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Received this free book for an honest review. ~ Hold onto your hats folks, 'cause you're in for a wild ride... Amazing! This series' conclusion rocked! Gods, aliens, humans, and Asgaardians? What could be better? I loved this story and it never disappointed. Take a journey into the lives of the characters of 'Earth Reclaimed'. It's funny, sad, frustrating, triumphant, and hilarious! The action is kickass and the romance is steamy, but don't just take my word for it. Jump in!

I was given a copy of Earth's Hope by Ann Gimpel in exchange for a honest review. Again another winner for Ann. This book completes the series. The baby dragons that we met in the 2nd book have kept growing and play an important part in Earth's Hope. With each book another of the Dark Gods joins the ones we already have met. Each one has its own type of hell they let loose on the Celtic gods and humans. The fight continues to try and get rid of the dark gods and the beings they let loose from hell as well as the lemurians. Ann knows how to weave her stories so that the reader feels like they are part of the story. Her descriptions of the characters and the situations are described so that you can see the images in your mind's eye. I highly recommend this series for a great read. The books should be read in order. The ending was perfect after everything the characters have been through as you read the three books in this series.

God but I love this series... bittersweet that this book ties things up so nicely. Aislinn is every bit her feisty self, Fionn still the perfect mate for her. The dragon lore is weaved flawlessly into the storyline along with the Celtic gods' mythology. Well done Ann!

I must admit I had mixed feelings about this book. Anyone who has discovered a series they enjoy will understand the mixed feelings upon opening the last book in the series. While you are excited to continue with the lives and struggles of these characters and read another book from an author you have come to enjoy (or love in this case), knowing this is the last time you will see these characters and be a part of their lives also brings sadness. This series is the chronicle of Aislinn’s fight to save herself as well as how and when she meets Rune and then Fionn. And then the rest of the Celts & humans she meets and allies herself with along the way. There are so very many interesting and intriguing characters that we meet in this series it is a total thrill to see them all come together (sort of) and work towards the common goal of taking Earth back as their home! I LOVE DRAGONS! Anyone who knows me knows I adore everything about dragons and am pre-disposed to (at least) enjoy books that have dragons in them. Especially when the dragons are main characters as dragons! I adore shape-shifters but there really nothing more awesome than an ACTUAL DRAGON that has survived for thousands and thousands of years, possibly even millennia. The dragons and especially their younglings have been a complete joy to get to know over the series but in this book we really get a look into the lives and lifestyle of these dragons. Which was AWESOME! The thing that sticks with me the most is one of the last lines of the book. And I have noticed it appearing in quite a few reviews. “We are Earth’s Hope.” This line is the main crux of this book and really the whole series. This line resonated so deeply with me because of the absolute TRUTH in it, not only for this book but our lives and reality in general. I believe that we are caretakers of this world for the next generation. As long as we are responsible, respectful, loving and generous to this world (and each other) then it will be here for them once we are gone. Then it will be the responsibility of that generation to care for this world for their next generation. And so on.
