Although I have taken the "New Yorker" magazine for many years, unfortunately it was far after Andy White was contributing. For some reason, I started to buy collections of his pieces and have fallen in literary love with his style, his sense of humor, and his grace of expression. My last venture has been to read and enjoy the above book and have been so delighted with Mr. Elledge's writing, very reminiscent of White's. That the two men should have become friends in Mr. White's declining years is a lovely touch.
